Holiday Inn and Suites or Anaheim Hilton

I am booking a room for Oct 13th for one night and my go to place (Majestic) is more than I want to pay. I can get Holiday Inn and Suites (1 Block for Disneyland) for a good enough rate or spend an extra $50 for Anaheim Hilton. Any experience with these hotels? I am looking to be able to walk and avoid the cost of parking at the park.

@Rich M - I can't say about the Holiday Inn, but will ask which one? There is the off of Harbor and the other over on Walnut. The down side to the Walnut one is walking to the park is a challenge as there isn't a great direct route.

As for the Hilton, we were at a conference there in July, I opted to stay at the Sheraton as many conference hotels like the Hilton can be very loud and busy, and with our some 3,000 people it was exactly that, very loud in the lobby area. My staff team stayed at the Hilton and were unimpressed with the rooms overall. One of my team members who I travel a fair amount with said he felt the rooms were dated and not up to Hilton par at all. That said it was good for those at the conference/convention center. The walk to Disneyland via Disneyland Drive was fine.

Food prices seemed expensive, I chose to eat at the Sheraton and others oped for the Marriott next door.

Both properties are mediocre. Nothing fancy, but clean and decent. The Hilton is certainly sub-par from the rest of their brand standards.

Hilton has a Starbuck in the lobby but it is one of the most expensive I have ever seen and if there is a convention or event going on the line makes Smuggler's Run line look like child's play. There is little value to sating at this property just because it is a full service hotel IMO.

I would choose the Holiday Inn, both are about the same walk but I much prefer to enter via DTD (we usually hit Starbucks in the AM) and avoid the madhouse that can be Harbor side security checkpoints.

Unless there is a compelling reason to stay to one of those two, Courtyard is MUCH nicer and Holiday Inn Express and Fairfield Inn are all nicer IMO and a lot closer.

This is so so so true! I was out on a morning walk when I saw a flock from the Hilton/Convention center making their way the Starbucks on Katella though most diverted their way into The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf instead of making the trek.

Having Gold or Diamond status at Hilton gets you past this line. It is glorious, minus the dirty looks you get from folks who have a 30 minute wait in front of them. :rolleyes1

Thank you for those suggestions. Let me check out the priceless of those. Getting two rooms so trying to keep the expense down.
