Please point me in the right direction for Christmas things to do at Universal Studios and IOA through out the Christmas season. We are AP holders. I have the one that pays for parking and doesn't have black out dates and the rest of the family has passes that do have block out dates. Looking for special holiday things to do as day guests. Our passes are sorely going to waste as we don't use them. July was the last time we went to a Universal park. Our passes expire in March.

Make sure you catch one of the Mannheim Steamroller concerts at the Studios in December...its included with your park admission.

I'd love to see them!

Do they still have the regular parade AND the Macy's parade or does the regular one stop for the holiday?

I think they still have the Superstar Parade but its earlier in the day. The Macy's parade is around 5PM daily.

Early in the month when Macy's is at 5pm, the Superstar Parade is at 2pm. I think it might change to 5pm when Macy's gets to the later step-off times.

Thanks for the heads up. Does Universal post their show times on line?

Bummer. Wonder if TP for Universal has that info? I'm not at all interested in a touring plan. My son is limited on what he can go on there, so we wouldn't be going for the rides, we'd be going for the entertainment. I'm excited about Mannheim Steamroller. I have a cd, but I'm sure that doesn't do it nearly as much justice as in person!

Anyone know what's happening December 7th? No hotel rooms available and the attendance predicted for that weekend is pretty high.

December 7th is when all the holiday festivities begin.

The festivities aren't separately ticketed events correct? The events are just Grinchmas, which is basically just Seuss Landing decorated with a show in the evening, and the Macy's Parade.

Grinchmas is Seuss Landing decorated and there is a show that is in one of the soundstages.

They are not separately ticketed events.

And Mannheim Steamroller performs at the Universal Music Plaza at the Studios on select nights in December. Those dates are: 12/7 & 12/8, 12/14 & 12/15 and 12/21 & 12/22. The concerts...like all holiday festivities are included in your park admission.

what times are grinchmas typically--one show or throughout the day? We are going 12/22 or 12/23 with closing times of 9pm.

I'm curious about show times too, but with a park closing time of 7pm, if anyone knows.

Also, are Saturdays usually a mob scene?

I absolutely love the parks during the holidays. I hope the parks get dark early because they're beautiful at night (and closing time is at 7pm during my dates :()

Also, I've never seen Mannheim Steamroller or the Grinch show in the soundstage!
