Just got back 12 hours ago from our Christmas BWV trip and had a great time. I tried some new decorating tricks and thought I'd share them with you. Some good...... some bad......

These are the items that I want to take next year:

white pipe cleaners: They can be used to wire lights on balcony railing, hang decorations around the room, and even be a super-quick tie for presents that can't be wrapped until you get off the airplane. They also pack very well.

white electrical tape: can be used to secure cabinet doors from inquisitive toddlers without leaving a mark or being very obvious. Can also be used to hang decorations on the cabinet doors and other places. Doesn't leave a mark or pull off paint when removed.

Disney fabric weath flag: I found one of those outside flags on sale on the DisneyStore website and used it on our patio as an outside decoration. I took a 30" dowel rod in our big suitcase and stuck it on the outside wall. Tbey pack well and don't take hardly any space at all.

removable sticky tabs: Great! I used them to hold garland around the door and bows, too. A caution, though. They left a slight residue on the dark green BWV door and I had to use warm soapy and water to get it all off. They worked like a dream for everything else.

extra long cable ties: They can be also be used to hold lights on the balcony rails. They pack well and remove with a snip of the scissors.

sacks and tissue paper: I brought sacks and tissue paper to make quick work of wrapping the presents that I took for the kids for Christmas morning. I used sheets of tissue paper for a couple of items, secured with a white pipe cleaner "bow".

I also shipped a little tree and misc items ahead of time to the resort. Be sure to put you name and arrival date on the outside of the box. When we shipped it back, we found out that BWV waives the 20% shipping fee for DVCers.

These are my ideas. What do you take to decorate your DVC home?
