What is your favorite EASY holiday cocktail? *** measurements too please****

I'm having a small get together with some friends and would like to offer something other than wine or beer to drink.

I looked online and the recipes are overwhelming.

Would like something easy to make, tastes great, and goes along with the holiday season?

Any suggestions?

TIA!

My favorite, which always goes over very well is a Raspberry Cosmo: Equal parts Raspberry vodka and cointreau then add Cranberry juice to taste.

Egg Nog and Rum - but I'm very particular about the brands. It has to be Southern Comfort Egg Nog (it's non-alcoholic) and Capt Morgan's Spiced Rum. So easy and soo good.

LOL im poor, It's Kemp's and Bacardi for me.

my fiance puts kahlua in her egg nog, but bailey's is alright too.

Bailey's on the rocks is pretty good too.

These sound good.

Capt. & Diet coke is my favorite drink so I have plenty of Capt is stock already. :thumbsup2

For the posts above, do you just mix to taste?

Better yet, can you add measurements?

Thanks!

I use a jigger of rum in a 6 oz mug of egg nog. but yeah, make a guess, it's booze not chemistry ;)

For individual drinks - 4oz egg nog, 1 oz Capt Morgan's, pinch nutmeg. I'm usually a little more liberal with the rum and it still tastes great.

Not a cocktail but my fav is a frozen pina colada slush

1 lg. can pineapple juice
6 oz. frozen lemonade
1 can cream of coconut
1 pint rum (I don't like mine as strong, so I add a little less than this)
1 1/2 cups 7-up (helps set up better if you add this)

Mix and freeze in covered bowl. Scoop or scrape frozen mixture into glass and add 7-up or ginger ale.

I just served this at a party and it went over well.

Pomegranate Poinsettia Punch

1 750ml bottle Pama pomegranate liquer
1 750ml bottle Triple Sec (if you're feeling fancy you can do Cointreau, but in punch triple sec is easy to get away with)
750 ml Cranberry Juice
1 2 Liter 7UP

Mix and garnish with sliced oranges and limes. Serves 8-10.

If you wanted to do it smaller its 1 part each of the pomegranate liquer, triple sec, and cranberry juice and 3 parts 7UP

Nuts and Berries!!!

Equal parts Frangelica and Chambord, add milk to taste. Serve over ice

Or you can use less expensive liqueur...Razzmatazz and Hazelnut liqueur.

My favorite is Captain and Coke but this is a good Holiday drink............

# 1 1/2 cups ice
# 3 ounces vanilla vodka
# 3 ounces chocolate liqueur (recommended: Godiva)
# 3 ounces Irish cream liqueur (recommended: Baileys)

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Pour the vodka, chocolate liqueur and Irish cream over the ice. Put top on the shaker and shake firmly. Pour into glass. It is from the food network. Very good!

Candy Cane

Add 1 shot each of Peppermint Schnapps, Vanilla Rum and White Chocolate Liqueur to shaker and shake, shake, shake. Pour into glass rimmed with red or green colored sugar and garnish with a mini candy cane.

It won't let me put the link in for some reason, but if you go to www.foodnetwork.com and put in holiday cocktails, and then pick Sandra Lee as the chef, she has some great festive holiday cocktails. Have a great party!

Eggnog and Kahlua topped with whip cream and cinnamon.

Pour an 8 oz. glass of eggnog. Take one shot of Kahlua and float it. To float the Kahlua, take a spoon and flip it. Use the rounded side. Place the spoon lightly on top of the eggnog (not in). Slowly pour the Kahlua over the spoon as you make a circle with the spoon. The Kahlua should stay on top. Top with whip cream and sprinkle cinnamon. I'll do it tonight and post a pic so you can see. :thumbsup2

Thanks everyone! These all sound great. Now, which one to try? Maybe we'll have to try a few.

Then a few more on X-mas Eve. :santa:

What time should I be there? :hourglass

A bottle of Captain in a crock pot full of that cloudy REAL apple cider, with some butter and cinnamon, makes the whole house smell good, and is fan-flipping-tastic.
