Has anyone else tried to book using the sale? Had a look this morning and the Max/gold option has gone from £81 to £186

So does anyone know how much Alamo charge for an extra driver? I am trying to work out if it will be worth booking with the discount and paying locally or waiting till tomorrow and using the other discount

I remember them increasing the Max option last time they had an offer on.

You can add the extra driver in the options, gives you local price.

We have a 7 seater booked with AutoEurope for 18 nights, cost £523 less £36 Quidco = £487 incl extra drivers & tank of gas.

Thru above link with 25% off its offering me 7 seater for £305 less 8% = £280, a bargain for 1 driver. Max is a ridiculous £264. I could add an extra driver for $180 (£114) which would take cost upto £394 plus tank of gas, still slightly cheaper than my AE reservation but not enough for me to change.

For our other reservation I could manage without extra driver so I need to decide if I am going to book with them this evening I can get a full size SUV, 7 nights for £151 less 8% = £132 a very good price but I would prefer to have tank of gas included on a car that size. I might wait and book a smaller car (full size) incl max/gold

I also looked at this this morning as well. The increase in the Max option price is a bit nasty I thought. Fairly good price without that though.

Anyway, I've now booked with Sixt. Better car for less money, for the minor inconvenience of a 5 minute shuttle bus off-airport.

I went to Holiday Autos via quidco which was offering a 13% cashbook.

I then added the oneaccount affiliate link from Wayneg's link (not sure if the quidco thing will still work...) How long dones it take before it shows, I wonder?

I then used the 25% discount code FLOSALE25.

Booked a intermediate SUV (says it takes five so the four of us will fit in fine, plus 2 large and 2 small suitcases - I reckon we'll get our 3 large and 1 small case in fine). We're going 30/7 to 17/8 (19 days).

Didn't book MAX as we didn't need extra driver (DW doesnt drive over there...) Did book their highest insurance (although have no idea what i'm really paying for). I'm assuming I do not have to pay for anything else when I get there.

I've paid £321. I'm happy with this!

WHat do you guys think.... i'm so lost with this!!! But hey, it's done now!!!

Can't remember how long it took to show on Quidco last time I used them, wasn't long, I would say within 24 hours.

I had nothing to pay locally, includes everything you need. All the usual still applies, they could try get you to take GPS, Prepaid Tolls, Roadside Assist, just say no. They tried to get me to upgrade to a Chevy Tahoe when I had already paid for a full size SUV, wanted $40+tax/day. I said no. Went out to choose a car and there was a Chevy Tahoe, a scam to get extra money out of people, I would never upgrade locally.

Eventually got around to booking. 7 days Full size SUV with discounts £151.09, cashback tracked within 30 mins at £12.09 (8%) So total cost £139. I almost caved at the last minute and booked our usual full size car at £85 (after cashback) but decided to splash out.
Same car on AutoErope would have cost me £245.95 less 7% = £228.73 so a £90 saving on their price.

I have read if you register for the Alamo Insiders Programme via the Alamo US site you may be able to have an additional driver for free on production of your membership card.
