Holding points

Dd and I were supposed to spend two nights at GFV last weekend. Unfortunately, snow and cancelled flights forced us to cancel. Points are in holding.
I am trying to reschedule for a weekend in June. I am going to book a room at a non dvc resort bc we are going no matter what but if there is anyway to use our holding points I will.
We would be a few points short for a 1 bedroom at SSR. If there is a room open can I use holding points and add on a few one time use points? I think I’m around 3 points short.

Yes, you can do that! You can also give MS a call and see if they will waive holding and get you booked from now given last weeks weather.

I’ll give it a shot, thank you! Resort prices are just crazy. Might go with Dolphin if I can’t use our holding points.

We had to cancel our March vacation which sent us into holding. I could only reserve 60 days out online. So I reserved in April. If this vacation doesn't work out I plan to cancel and let the points remain in holding until 60 days from July. If you have luck with MS over-riding the 60 day booking issue, please post an update.

I wasn’t able to get the points in holding released unfortunately. However after searching through the threads here I figured out that I could modify my April stay in Aulani that is 40 days out. I was able to use the holding points for Aulani and now have the points back in my current use year. Thanks @Standisw bc it was one of her responses that walked me through how to do it.
