Just want to tell everyone to be sure to check your account activity statement after a trip, especially if you have a segmented one.

We returned a few weeks ago and when I checked my DVC account, everything looked fine. I should have had 5 points left and that is what I saw on the summary page.

Today, I went to bank those 5 points--need them to make a reservation Tuesday-- and it said I had no points to bank. I then looked at the activity statement and it said they were in holding. Someone had canceled and re-booked things on August 5th--5 days prior to our trip. I know it wasn't me so I gave MS a call.

Apparently, the front desk at BWV had to make adjustments because of the segmented travel plan to get things to work. Because I have two BLT contracts, they didn't use all of the holding points they created when they re-booked things, instead taking 5 regular points.

It was an easy fix for MS and I went ahead and banked the points without problem. Because I never looked at the activity statement when I returned, only the summary page, I did not realize those points were restricted.

So, just be sure to check everything. I am sure it was easier to get it fixed only 3 weeks later than it would have been 3 months from now.
 
That happened to us when they let a Guest of ours using points add the dining plan at check in. We didn't know anything about it until a month or so later when we tried to make a reservation and we didn't have the points. It took MS several days and a few phone calls to get it fixed. :mad:

What's odd is that the front desk messed with the account on Aug 5th and we didn't check in until Aug 10th--so I have no idea (and neither did MS) as to why they had to adjust things other than something to do with the the segmentation of the two nights.

Perhaps that's the reason things went so well for you on that trip as far as the segments went.

Maybe there was an issue with the segment linking and they somehow caught it so you didn't have to move. I think the details of the reservations might go to the resorts for a first look around that time.

Maybe the BWV CMs have been learning things about the new software and are proactively implementing work-arounds that make things work better. (I like to think this is the reason, myself, LOL).
