Holding points for waitlist

I have 6 points in holding from a reservation we changed after the 30 day mark earlier this year. These points can be used for a reservation I make less than 60 days in advance.

We are currently on the waitlist for one night in October, and have been for several months. If that night actually comes through, will we be able to use those 6 points for that night? It will be less than 60 days, but does it matter that it was a waitlist request?

Good question - I don't really know.

Technically, if you got on the waitlist prior to the 60 day mark, the answer should be no unless there is no one on the waitlist behind you who got on it prior to the 60 day mark. If the waitlist had come through prior to the 60 day mark, you would not have been able to make the reservation with holding account points - so you would have been on the waitlist without a way to "cover it" so to speak..

Practically, I don't know if MS can even track things like that. I suspect if the waitlist comes through, the CM will allow you to use the holding account points.

Repeating - I don't know.
