On our last trip, we stopped at Publix and bought some groceries. We had frozen and refrigerated items. I bagged them, keeping all the frozen items together and all refrigerated items together, in bags. We told the bell hop we had these items and asked them to store them for us until our room was ready. He said it was no problem. This was about noon. We went on our way and came back around 4 to get our room. When they brought up our food, all the frozen items were thawed out. Luckily, we didn't have much and we just refroze it (I think I had a couple small pizzas and a box of PB & J). I'm glad we didn't get ice cream! Anyway, does anyone know if they store frozen items in a freezer or do they only have a refrigerator? Thanks! :D

We stayed at BCV in Dec. I reminded them which items needed to be frozen and I was told thank you for the reminder or else they would have placed them all in the fridg only. We had no issues when our room was finally ready.

Thanks! Next trip, I'll make sure they know which bags need to go in the freezer. :D

At what resort did you stay? This shouldn't be a problem at OKW because they've got a big fridge and freezer right there in the store.

We stayed at Boardwalk.

I think bell services tends to be overwhelmed. At VWL, my perishables didn;t make it to the fridge at all. Needless to say, they were thrown away 6 hours later!

I will definetly remind more than once. I am thinking of bring a sticker or two next trip that says "Please refrig. me" in one of those nice neon colors.

Last year when I stayed at WLV I asked them to place 2 bags in the refrigerator until our room was ready. About 45 minutes later, I needed something in our suitcase. They allowed me to go back in the area where they store luggage. I noticed my grocery bags on the floor next to my suitcase. I asked them once more to please put them in the refrigerator - this time they did. I would have lost about 1 week's worth of groceries, (since my room was not ready for another 4 hours). Since then, I always double check to see if someone has place my bags in the frig.

Thanks for the tip on reminding bell services to put bags in the refrigerator. We have always been lucky so far and the groceries were cold when we retrieved them. I hate to lose all those groceries especially when we used prescious vacation to make a grocery stop on the way from the airport.:earsboy:

If you order groceries beforehand to be brought in, are they already placed in the frig/freezer? Or only delivered once we are in our room?

Planning for our March trip and trying to decide whether to shop for ourselves w/Tiffany Town Car providing transportation or taking Mears & ordering in advance......

Either way, I would go with a towncar instead of Mears. After using both Mears and a towncar service, I would never go back to using Mears again.

this is helpful to us because we are staying in 2 resorts on our next trip and I was thinking we would lose the milk, etc because of moving day.
has anyone moved resorts with perishables?
