We are staying at blt for a night before a cruise then coming back for a longer stay. We would like to pack light for the cruise and leave some stuff behind. Will bell services hold bags for 5 days? What would be an appropriate tip? It isn't that much more work is it? I was thinking like $20 for 2 or 3 bags. Is that being cheap? About right?

We did this at AKV and it was easy. Can't remember how much we tipped, but we left only a box of diapers. It was nice to not have to carry extra stuff on to the ship.

No one will be handling them while you are gone - they'll just sit in the luggage room, so no more tip is necessary than what you would tip normally for bell services. Of course you will what to tip when you leave for the cruise and again when you return.

It's best to check with Bell Services at your resort. Depending on the resort and time of year they may be tight on space. It shouldn't be a issue but you never know. If half of the ships passengers store just one bag, your looking at 1500 extra bags in storage.

Ok, good advice.

I wouldn't expect the number of people staying at BLT both before and after a cruise to be anything like 1500. I would think a handful, at the most.

We've done this a few times and tipped no more than $1 per bag. All they are doing is storing it for you, make sure to tell them it's long term storage. It's no different than any other luggage service they provide.

Done it a few times and it's never been an issue. They have an area for long term storage.

Did you call ahead of getting to the resort or just let them know when you were checking out that you were heading off to the cruise?
