Hold the Presses! No More PS's!

According to allearsnet.com, they are now to be called "Advance Reservations". (http://www.allearsnet.com/din/restnews.htm )

After all these years! It's hard to believe, but as it's well past April 1, I guess I'll have to.

We'll just have to call them "AR's" from now on.

It seems to be just a name change without any change to policy or procedure. Why? And why is it called Advance Reservations? You really can't make Reservations to dine any other way but in advance. Maybe this is a gradual process over to making them full-fledged reservations that will be required to be secured with a credit card?

I guess it actually depends on who you talk to though. I have called 3 separate times for PS/AR since the change and each of the CM's still called them PS. Either everyone is having a hard time changing or there are some who are trying to rebel against the change.

The CM's at the restaurants also called them PS and not AR.

Yeah, it's been that way for at least a few weeks. I just use the old PS stand by too.

I have noticed that every time I have called this year. I have requested Priority Seating and the CM always ends the conversation with "you have an advanced reservation for". It threw me off the first couple of times and I asked it they needed a credit card due to the change in language. Of course the answer was no.

Have You Ever ask a CM for A "PS"? I do this all the time they would ask whats that and i would say "oh sorry i read the disboard's to much I would like a Priority Seating for..."
Now there realy not going to know what im talking about
