Hold on Credit Card - National Car Rental?

Well, it's finally here! We're traveling down to Tampa tomorrow to stay for a few days and then it's on to Disney! We're renting a minivan from Tampa from National. My question is - how much of a hold do they put on your credit card when you pick up? I only have one major credit card (and one debit card). I want to make sure there is enough credit available for the hotels, car, etc.

National only puts a hold on the amount of the rental. Just used them last week.

Also, you can use a debit card, providing you have a round-trip ticket, and it is the same. Just the amount of the rental. You just want to make sure that whatever CC, or debit card you use, is on your profile.
