Hold my umbrella while I find your poncho! A May 2012 TR-- NEW-FINALLY! 1/17; pg. 29

Yay! You made it for the opening at MK! I absolutely love that show!

We spent more time in our room this trip because of the rain. It worked out fairly well since my little one (and the rest of us) is much happier when she takes a nap.

I'm trying to remember where we were on the 30th. I know we had dinner at 1900 Park Faire that evening for my husband's birthday, but I can't remember if we were at Epcot or MK.

Love the pics from breakfast! So cute!

Wow, beautiful morning pictures at the MK!

We are all morning people (go Team Early Risers, from MEK's TR), so we almost always see the rope drop show (and it is usually the 8 AM EMH show). I'm so glad you saw the show. Your pictures are so clear and amazing.

Love the picture of the 4 of you on Dumbo!!!

Too bad you missed the train, but that allowed you to take that fantastic picture of the one that pulled up. Also a bummer that your breakfast was a little more disappointing than past meals at Ohana have been.

Wow, looks like yesterday's long day at HS and the early morning wiped the girls out.

Yay, you made it to see the opening show!

I can't wait to explore the new Fantasyland in October... really hoping they have a little more open by then! And even though it'll be just me and DH, we are riding the new Dumbo! I agree, I think the new water feature is so pretty. And I've seen pics of the ride at night... love it all lit up!

We typically use our TS credits for dinner, but we've done one breakfast on each of our trips... and it was a late breakfast. That's what works for us, too... late breakfast that can serve as lunch, then we don't need a meal until dinnertime. Bummer about the service you had at 'Ohana, though. My youngest really wants to go there for breakfast... Stitch and Pluto are her favorites!

I'm so happy y'all made it to the opening show! It always makes me cry ... which makes DH laugh, but who cares? ;)

I grew up outside New Orleans and spent many a summers in Gulf Shores. Your pictures brought back some fond memories. Thank you for that!

Yay for getting to MK for opening. No wonder the girls needed a nap after being up so early!

Lovely photos from the beach, the picture of the girls is lovely. One to show them when they are having 'sister moments' to put it nicely....!;)

I'm glad y'all made it in time for the opening show! In all my trips, I don't think I've ever seen it before... it's going on my must do list for next year!

That stinks about your waiter, 'Ohana is one of my favorites for both breakfast and dinner, sorry you couldn't fully enjoy it!

I love the show! It was so cute and made me tear up just a little! ;)

I hear you about everyone being happier if some folks get their sleep/naps! We have some people like that in our family!

Well, Dee, you would be seriously disappointed in us. I try to be an early riser-and can be- at Disney, but I am constantly deterred by two girls who must be beautiful before they can walk out the door!

I used my zoom lens for those pics, because we were pretty far back. I was surprised that they turned out as clearly as they did. I usually don't have good luck using that lens.

I enjoyed my meal--always love the breakfast there, but I'm not sure I'll do such a late meal there again.

I've seen the pictures of Dumbo at night, too! You're right, Shannon--it is so pretty all lit up. We didn't get back over there to see it in person though.

We didn't use the DDP this year, so we were paying for our meals OOP. Don't let my bad experience with the server turn you off to 'Ohana breakfast. We still love it, and would go again! :)

You're welcome! :) So glad you have good memories of visiting there as a child.

 That's one way to put it!

I was thrilled to finally make the show-and the best part is even the girls got up and ready in time, so we all got to watch it together. :) Put it on your "must-do" list for next trip, Sarah!

'Ohana is still one our favorite breakfast places (LOVE the juice)-and we will still go back.

I can't wait to catch the opening show. I think that it's new since we were there the last time.

I can't wait to ride the new Dumbo! Yes, I'm a dork. I don't have young kids, but I don't care!! LOL!!

I have never taken a afternoon nap at Disney. LOL! My family and I go commando style. Full on all day long! :lmao:

Can't wait to read the next update. The last line has ne thinking that someone didn't have a good day at MK. LOL!

:offtopic:

I totally agree with what other's have said about boys. They are strange creatures. I look at my son and wonder where he came from. LOL! I had brother's, but I think I just mostly ignored them because they were irritating and being the oldest I could just lock the door and they would go away. LOL!

:rotfl:

Barring some major catastrophe, we WILL be having breakfast at 'Ohana on our next trip... my youngest has declared it, so it will happen, LOL! She would be perfectly fine if that's the only thing we do at WDW. She's still a little sore at me for not going there on our last trip (in 2010) but I tried to explain to her that at the time, I didn't realize Stitch made an appearance there! :stitch2:

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: you finally made the opening show at the MK. :yay::yay::yay: I try to do this at least once a trip...it always brings me such joy.

Thanks for the pictures of the new Dumbo area; Mark is just going to love the sidewalk with the peanuts and elephant prints. :goodvibes

Way to go girls...an afternoon nap in Disney is always a good thing to get the motor running again.

I`ve been away for a bit but glad to see I didn`t miss too much :) Tomorrow I hope to get an update done on my TR but tonight is for catching up on all my subscribed TRs.

That was a fast, busy morning!! YAY for making the opening show :) We always catch it but not actually bc we like the opening show. HAHA, more for being the first people onto Space and starting our day off with NO lines at all :)
Loved seeing the cute new Dumbo area!! It`s so nice in there. I can`t wait to see how everything looks when all the construction is done in MK.

I just got caught up on your last update. I know, I'm slow. But once I get caught up, I stay caught up! :thumbsup2

I love the opening show at MK. I stayed at BLT once trip and walked over there just so I could see it and get pictures. I wasn't even going into MK that day. I just wanted to see the show.

In October I am going to have to ride the new Dumbo. I like your strategy - space mountain and then dumbo.

Breakfast at Ohana looks yummy. Great pictures of the kids. I agree with you - I love a late breakfast that serves as lunch. I'm never really hungry in the early morning, but by 10:30 or 11am I am ready to chow down. Sorry your service was less than stellar.

So great that the girls got a nap in.

No, I have never stayed at the Poly. We joined DVC about 4 years ago. Prior to that we stayed at all the mods and a few of the values. I have finally finished staying at all the DVC resorts in WDW, but I really would like to stay at the Poly and the YC. Just not sure how I can convince DH to do that. :rotfl:

I am SO glad your life is complete now!!! I absolutely adore the opening show at MK, it's a must do event for me. I know I will never be the first in line for any ride at MK because I am not willing to give up my good viewing spot to get to the front of the herd :rotfl2:

We did a late breakfast at Chef Mickey's last year and it was great to have the chance to get in a couple things before heading that way but it was literally opening show, dumbo, meet a character, grab FP's for later and back out of the park. I think I could only do this early in a trip!

Sorry your Ohana meal wasn't all you hoped but at least the characters were good

An afternoon nap :goodvibes

The opening show is SO cute! You have to see it!

Our youngest is a 9-almost 10-year old boy-then 18 and 16 year old teenage girls. We didn't care that we were in line with preschoolers. It was newly redone! We had to do it! :thumbsup2

We used to go commando style all the time. But in the past few trips, we've just eased up, and realized that we've done it all at some point, so we don't wear ourselves out trying to get it all in again. Works better for us!

Let's just say that a surprise I had planned meant that the kids got pretty upset before they found out what was happening!

Love it! The first time we stayed at the Poly in 2007, Rachel saw Lilo and Stitch dancing around as we were in the GCH the morning we were checking out. She was so sad we hadn't eaten there, and told me right then that she wanted to eat there the next trip. So-from then on, we eat there every trip! :thumbsup2

I know! I was so glad to finally see the entire show! :)

I think Mark (and you too, Mrs. Kathy) will enjoy the new Dumbo/Fantasyland area!

Glad you're back, Kim!

I was so glad to finally catch the opening show. Unless you really know my girls, you can not appreciate how much of a feat this was to arrive early enough to catch the show! ;)

My husband, Reid, and I do have breakfast daily---usually just cereal or something. But to eat as much food as a Disney breakfast is, requires us to wait until a later time!

I think I could trade my Poly stays for DVC memberships! ;) Sounds great having tried out nearly every resort!

Thank you Katie! :thumbsup2

I think I may need to see it again though! ;)

So excited that you finally got to see the opening show! I just love it and make a point to see it at least once each trip. The fact that you can practically walk on to the big attractions if you get there that early helps too :thumbsup2

Pretty sure I will ride the new Dumbo this time as well. Haven't been on it since probably 2005??? But since it's new, I gotta ride at least once!

Nothing wrong with going to the park for the opening show and a couple of rides before heading out for a late breakfast - one of the benefits of being on the monorail!

The girls were able to nap because their mean mama made them get up super early to go watch the opening show at MK ;)

Hurray for finally seeing the opening show! Isn't it precious??? I always tear up during it.

It was great, Jackie! I'm so glad I finally got to see the entire thing! :)

That's exactly how I felt, Michelle. We hadn't ridden Dumbo since 2008, during Reid's first visit. It was "new", so I wanted all us to experience it again! :thumbsup2

Oh, yes---I am the mean mama most the time!

I finally got a chance to get caught up. I am with your daddy....being on the 21st floor of the building. :scared1: But, the view that you had was gorgeous!

I'm so glad that your life is now complete because of the MK opening show! :lmao: It's been years since I've been able to get my group up and about early enough to see it.

I hated to hear that you felt rushed at your Ohana breakfast. It's the pits when you really want to linger and enjoy your food and the wait staff is rushing you.
