I was on Hojo's website this weekend and noticed they have a new toll-free reservation number for those who need it. The number is 1-800-422-4228 and it states they are available 24/7. In the past in-house reservations were handled mostly during regular business hours and Sat. morning as well, through their local number at in-house reservations, but it can't hurt to pick up the phone any time to make a toll free call to get your reservations.

Yet another reason to love Hojo's. :goodvibes

Please read this posting from Hojo's General Manager, posted below, in this thread:

800 Number Clarification

We've had this same 800 number for more than 20 years! Over 5 years ago we implemented a system that checks during our normal business hours whether an "in-house" reservations agent is available. If not, the call is auto-forwarded to the National Hojo Reservations Center. They do have access to all discounts, but cannot mix discount rates for a single stay or book the Premium Suites. This system was implemented to reduce caller hold times and provide better service. Special discounts and inquiries are best handled by our in house folks during regular hours at 714.776.6120 and requesting "in-house reservations".

So, depending on whether in-house is open or already on a call, Using the 800 number may connect you to the Hojo Call Center.

So is this phone line direct to the hotel in Anaheim? Or is it yet another line to the national reservation line?

-Bob

I believe this is a national line. I prefer to do the 714 number and speak with someone directly at the hotel. The national line never seems to know what is going on and can never actually answer my questions.

The national line will also NOT know anything about the discount entertainment/retro rate. :sad2:

I just placed a phone call at 10:26 MST to Hojo Anaheim's newly advertised toll-free number, available 24/7 - 1-800-422-4228 - the customer service representative who answered the phone did indeed mention Anaheim Hojo's immediately when she greeted me on the phone, and when asked, she did say they were an 'after hours service' for Hojo's Anaheim... That being said, she was very friendly, courteous, and was able to quote me the DISboard 15% off rate when I checked some dates in Jan. by simply asking for the DISboards rate. (I didn't have to tell her the LNDB code that we use when we make bookings online, she was quickly and easily able to quote me the DISboard rates.) I double-checked on Hojo Anaheim's website, and indeed, the rates show discounted as to what she stated.

Thanks, Hojo's Anaheim, for the 24/7 service with a toll free number!
:goodvibes

Kudos to Hojo's for going that extra mile.

Did she know about the Entertainment Rate though? TIA

I phoned this morning, 10 am MST and immediately the phone was answered, (first ring) and the customer service rep. did know about the entertainment rate when I asked her about it, so obviously they have been told whatever info. they need to know to book rooms at the DISboard 15% off rate, available anytime, or, the hugely discounted entertainment rate when available.

Too bad that hotel cannot be truthful though about their workers. As a result, I no longer have the confidence in that property that I had at one time. I will not be staying there in all likely hood ever due to that reason.

Thanks for the clarification! Your prompt response indicates dedication to Hojo's, and we appreciate that. :)

WOW, that sure is a lot of editing.

Not really... I edited out my sentiments realizing it was a moot point. ;) We all have our own opinions, I do understand and respect that. :goodvibes

For those wondering what I edited out, it was simply that we have stayed at least 6 times at Hojo's during the past 5 years, each time having the *utmost* clean rooms, which is a huge priority for my family, including my son who has asperger's and OCD/anxiety. (Routine, knowing what to expect, is a huge bonus for us to experience, and we get that at Hojo's every time.) The staff is super, the beds and pillows super comfy, it's an easy 7-8 minute walk to the Disney Parks, and though I also had initially wondered why Lorealle had left, Hojo's had since explained they would enjoy having her back, and obviously, it was a private matter where Lorealle has moved on. Since Lorealle's departure, we have stayed at Hojo's twice, and have since experienced the same great service we have always known, and will continue to do so in the future. It is our second home, to go to Hojo's once a year, for a week. Thank God for the webcam that Hojo's offers, was another comment I had made.

I had also wondered why one who has no plans to stay there would question whether or not the toll free number knows about the entertainment rate, which I confirmed from my phone call they seem to be familiar with. That being said, it is probably still a better idea to phone in-house reservations, during reg. business hours and Sat, mornings, as most of us have done in the past, anyway. Or, book online using the correct discount codes.

I have read almost every HoJo thread here and read extensively about Lorealle. I'm sorry I never got a chance to meet her. My family had an amazing trip to DLR recently and HoJo was part of that magic. If speculation about some cover-up leads to fewer bookings, that is unfortunate. I hope it doesn't hurt HoJo's bottom line.

In fact, due to the huge amount of controversy here, I believe Jonathan finally had to issue a statement re:Lorealle. I recognize that folks would prefer Lorealle come here and personally clear up the air, but she hasn't so each of us must draw our own conclusions. I just wanted to respond to Gisele and say that it is quite provocative to accuse HoJo of lying about their employees. Employers can and should respect their employees' privacy. If Lorealle doesn't want details of her departure made public, HoJo and DISboarders should respect that, too.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. And I have stated mine. Please do not put words into my mouth, I don't care for that at all. I am not accusing said company of "lying" necessarily, however, if that term fits the company so be it. There are lies of omission, that one can be guilty of as well. And the latter is probably more so the case for this property, than the former. But seeing how I do not have the truth, I can only imagine what it is, why it is, and why it is being with held. Regardless, I will not do business with this particular hotel.

Seriously? You really believe that a company should post on a public bulletin board the confidential employment record of a specific employee??? You have stated you have no idea what happened, but are choosing to speculate by "imagining" something is being withheld?? Why do you believe it to be any of your business what the status of Lorealle's employment is with or without HOJO Anaheim? You would have no problem with your employer posting the details of your employment history on a public forum? Are you at all familiar with the concept of confidentiality? Yet, you feel entitled to know the personal information of a stranger, and without that information, you choose not to patronize that business? Your days must be exhausting trying to track down the employing practices of every company and business you consider choosing to patronize.

Wow. Lorealle was a fabulous spokesperson for HOJO when she was around. She was a tremendous resource on this and other message boards. But she has moved on. These things happen.

I have stayed at HOJO's both during and after the Lorealle years. I return because of the fabulous experience and return for my dollar. Honestly, I have never met the girl, yet still managed to have great stays. I think the hotel is more than just one employee. ;)

I never put any words in your mouth. I quoted your EXACT words. Please tell me how you can call HoJo "not being truthful" and in your subsequent post the phrase "lies of omission" as not being an accusation of lying.

As I said in my post, you can draw whatever conclusions you want. Heck, if you want to believe the world is flat because you've never been in space to see for yourself that it's round. GO AHEAD. But you are a long-time poster here and with that comes the assumption that your words carry weight. Newbies might assume that you actually KNOW BASED ON FACT that HoJo is lying, not baseless speculation which you clearly admit here.

Your assertion that HoJo is dishonest can and likely will hurt that hotel. Frankly, if they had the time and inclination, they could SUE YOU FOR LIBEL/DEFAMATION. If I were a small-business owner and saw that someone was damaging my reputation, you can bet I would sue to reduce the harm being caused to my business.

Alright, I'm done with this thread as clearly there is no convincing you that your words are harmful and your defensiveness doesn't help anyone.

There is no Lorealle conspiracy. She decided over a year ago to take a position with another company in an unrelated type of business. The long drive to Hojos was just too far from her home, so we tried letting her work on a part-time basis from home in the evenings, after her new job. It became clear that she didn't have the time to focus on the discussion boards, and we parted on a friendly basis. I encouraged her to check back with me if she was interrested in returning. The door was left WIDE open for her return if she wished. She was a great employee and we miss her dearly!

That being said, our current staff is the best we've ever had! Our TripAdvisor reviews are spectacular. We recently re-hired our previous Executive Housekeeper who is a Super-Star, and our hotel is cleaner than ever! We are refreshing our guest rooms, and our freeway rooms will be very quiet soon. ;) So, yes, things change, but our dedication to unexpected quality and service are stronger than ever! In my 20 years at Hojo Anaheim, I've never been more proud to be part of this team.

That was my concern too, that Disboard newcomers might feel that the poster has clout, and was speaking from background knowledge or insider information, but the Lorealle 'Conspiracy' (or lack there-of ;) ) has clearly been dismissed, as stated by Jonathan, below...

Once again, Jonathan, thanks for the up-date. Personally, my family doesn't have any problem with freeway rooms, we consider the sound from the freeway to be like a white noise machine running faintly in the background. It will be interesting to see the refreshed rooms in the future, and to see what method you will use to reduce the freeway sound more than it already is.
I can vouch for the cleanliness of Hojo's, too, we always *love* how clean the rooms are.
