And since we have a ent. rate room I doubt will have a fridge or microwave. Any ideas for quick inexpensive breakfast's? (I think will do a Character Meal breakfast one of our days)

McDonald's is on the way to the parks and is easy for breakfast. Also, I have picked up muffins etc from Mimi's Cafe which is right by the Hojo. I've grabbed them the night before to have in the room.
Also, the Hojo has a little store where you can buy mild and cereal etc.
Hope that helps!

We had the ent rate and we had a fridge in our room.

You'll pass mimi's and McDonald's on your way to DLR. We are big fans of Nature Valley granola bars and always had those with us, but later would get some sort of brunch-y sort of food or just wait until lunch. Unless we had a character b'fast scheduled, of course.

You will definately have a fridge and coffee maker in the room as all their rooms have these items.

If you reserved a premium room, you'll also have a microwave.

There is a little store there that sells all sorts of stuff (cereal, donuts, cookies, muffins, fresh fruit, oatmeal, milk, juice, pop, beer, snacks, cup-o-noodles, and all sorts of other stuff). Also, as already mentioned, there is a Mimi's Cafe and a McDonalds very close by.

We LOVE the HOJO and have never had a bad experience there. You made a great choice and you can't beat that Entertainment rate!:thumbsup2

By the way, if you're going to be there April 24, 25, 26, 27, or 28, a bunch of us DisBoard ladies (about 40 of us) will be there too, so you'll be in great company.:cool1:

McDonalds is what we've done when we've stayed at places with no cont breakfast.

But that's why we like the Tropicana. I think all places should have small refridgerators, and microwaves. Those to me aren't premimum items in this day and age (I'm disappointed that onsite doesn't have microwaves too)! The cont. breakfast is a just a nice plus. Were not huge breakfast eaters anyway, so it saved us a bundle to just be able to grab a few muffins and some juice on our way in to the park. The entertainment rate is sweet though, so you'll save quite a bit with that no doubt. We can never get it when we've tried for our dates, that and the walk just doesn't appeal to me.

But yeah we would do McDonalds and maybe try and buy some muffins in a store near by and keep them in the room!

we just book and our room has a fridge and micro...we did get the preimum room. That said we plan on bringing milk and coffee cream and honey buns or dounuts.........if not we just lunch early, beats the high noon crowds that way too.

I like the idea of mufins from Mimi's , I may have to try that!

JenDisneylandlver, from responses I've heard/read in the past, it's mainly due to the age of the buildings of the hotels around there (including DLH) and their electrical systems. Plugging too much in without being very careful could cause awful problems.

Oh okay. I wonder if that's true cause I'm sure places like the Tropicana has been there for quite some time. Yet they have microwaves. I know with the GCH that can't be it. With rates over $400 a night, I think they should have microwaves! :)

We used the coffee maker to get hot water for our cup of soups we brought in October!

The muffins and Mimi's are SO good, really moist and large. My favorite is the honey bran muffin, it is served upside down and the top is all honeyey:thumbsup2

It's very possible that the Tropicana has updated their electrical system to handle the load of microwaves in every room and the HoJo just hasn't yet. It appears that they have found a way aroiund it though since they are now offering micros in all their premium rooms.

We were just there and managed breakfast fine without a micro. We just made cereal with soy milk and fruit. Great way to start the day. :goodvibes

You'll have a fridge and coffee maker but no microwave. To be honest when we stay at the Tropicana we don't enjoy the breakfast much, it's bad pastry, borderline fruit and cheerios or corn flakes. LOL I'd rather save the money and get something I like to eat for breakfast, we do McD's on the way, Mimi's on the way or just get something in DL. On Main Street at the end of the hub there is a stand that sells pastries and they are so much better than the ones that come with the free breakfasts. :)

We used some of the money we saved by staying there to buy a HOT breakfast at Mimi's almost everyday. They even have mickey shaped pancakes which were a huge hit with my little ones...:goodvibes

It really depends on what you want to eat for breakfast. I actually feel sick if I eat too heavy of a breakfast and then try to do the rides! Not to mention a sit down breakfast would take all our prime morning time up (and we just can't get up much earlier then we already do! LOL).

We never use the microwaves for breakfast, but we do use it often to heat up left overs. For example DH and DS always has pizza at the Rainforest, and never finish it! Makes a yummy snack at the hotel the next day! Or if ds doesn't finish his nuggets it won't be a loss and we can heat them up later for him. So microwaves are must for us, but not so much on big breakfasts! But then again when we stayed at the Tropicana the items weren't bad either. The pastries were fine.

looks like I am leaving wed april 23rd! Darn it, anyone of you there then?

where are you staying at. we are at the hojo's. we booked after hearing the good reviews about it. but am thinking of changing to the ap6 rate at DLH. the GC is booked waaaaaa

We're at HOJO's too! One of the $59 ent. rate rooms ~ so nothin' fancy I'm sure.

Its just their regular room at a discounted rate. We have stayed in one, and it was just fine. We have also stayed in the premium room for $69. or whatever it was, and it was just fine too. In fact, its a pretty spectacular place for the price.

LOL! Yep, their ent. rate rooms are no different than their regular rooms that they charge over $100 a night for. You're just getting a deal! ;)
