I'm still dithering over which hotel to book for our July trip. The kids' suites at HoJo look amazing! My only hesitation is that they're next to the freeway. The hotel states that the first 6 floors are soundproofed. My questions are:

1. Is the soundproofing effective? I've read a few reviews on Trip Advisor that said they couldn't hear the freeway because of the loud AC, which wasn't all that comforting for a light sleeper like me.
2. It's only me and my two middle schoolers, so it's not like we need a ton of room, I just thought a 2 bed/2 bath combo would be nice for a change. Perhaps a 2Q view room on the other side of the building would be sufficient?
3. Any other suite hotels folks like? The suites at the Carousel look nice, but the reviews were mixed.

Thanks for your help DISers!

We stayed in one of the kids suites, building 1, freeway side, this past July. I was stunned at how quiet it was. My wife is a very light sleeper, just about any noise will wake her up, and she wasn't bothered at all. They did a great job of soundproofing the room. We specifically requested a room that was not on the top floor, as we didn't want the skylights, and I'm not sure if that would make the room noisier. We were one floor from the top.

I stayed in building 1 in March 2013 facing the freeway and had zero noise complaints

We just stayed in building 1, floor 5 freeway side last week and there was zero freeway noise in the room when all the doors were shut. You don't need to turn the A/C on to drown out the noise!

You won't be sorry, the Kid's Suites are fabulous and totally soundproof with the exception of the top floor. The skylights were not able to be soundproofed. pirate:

Like all the others mentioned, its quiet with the slider closed, but if you open the slider its nosey. We had no problems sleeping at night.

Thanks for the confirmations! We've booked the Kids' Suite for 6 nights in July. I was planning to stay 5 nights M-F, but some of the July trip reports stated that Sat. is less busy because the APs are blocked so we've added one more night. We won't go in the park the day we arrive and one day mid-week which will be a nice time for my kids to enjoy the pool area.
