HOJO walk to DL compared to WDW

I am really getting a lot of great info on this DL board. We are going to DL for the first time at the end of August, and I was able to get the entertainment rate for part of our trip (thanks to all the threads here). I keep reading that its a 7 minute walk to DL, but I was wondering if anyone can give me an idea as compared to anywhere in WDW. For example we stayed at the Dolphin one time and walked to Epcot's International Gateway, would this walk be comparable to the walk from HOJO to DL. Or if anyone has any other examples I would really appreciate it.

Ok, I have to admit that I am a DL newbie so haven't actually made the hojo walk personally yet - and therefore my opinion might be worthless - but I have been comparing it (to my family) to the walk from Dolphin/YC to DHS which takes us about 10 minutes. I figure that is a max distance but I'd rather over-estimate.

If you're used to walking around WDW, then DL is going to feel very small to you! There is a ton less walking.

The only time the Hojo's walk feels long is at the end of a long day. In the morning it's not very long at all. IF you're WDW vets, I really wouldn't worry about the Hojo's walk much at all.

Guestimates....It's about as far as:

- The front of Epcot.... to France.
- From where the AK bus drops you off.... to the AK front gate.
- From one of those in the back of POR (Magnolia) rooms to the POR food court. (I remember those "Honey you forgot to get cream for my coffee" moments.)

If you ask for people's opinion comparing to WDW it will be largely subjective. Here are the distances involved:

Howard Johnson's Anaheim 2,648 feet 3,063 feet

I have walked HoJo's and it will be 10-15 minutes from the time you leave your hotel room until you arrive at the DLR gates. For those with no children and are fast walkers they might do it in 7-8 minutes.

I was wondering the same thing. We seem to be in a similar situation. We have been to WDW twice also and are going to Disneyland towards the end of August. We also got the Entertainment rate at HOJO's. I have one boy and 2 girls. 9, 7, 7.

When are you going to be there? We'll be there 8/25-8/30, I have two boys 5 and 7.
