Looking for opinions between the HOJO and the newer Courtyard Marriott Anaheim Theme Park hotel. I know HOJO offers a discount I can use for a newsletter I belong to. We will have 2 adults and a 3 year old. Wanting to spend lots of time at the pool and the fun areas. Not really sure where the Courtyard sits. Is it in front of the Fairfield? It wasn't built last time we were there.

The Courtyard is kind of behind Mimi's, if that makes sense.

I've stayed at both - Courtyard does have a cool waterpark, but for a 3 year old, I think they would have more fun at Hojo's. It's smaller and more contained, and easier to keep an eye on them. Courtyard also has things like bunkbeds that you're paying into but you can't really use for a 3 year old. When we were there, the 5 year old loved the waterpark, but my 3 year old was a little scared, if that helps. On the other hand, when the 5 year old was 3, we stayed at Hojo and he loved it.

My family of 5 stayed at the Courtyard ThemePark entrance in June. My 3 year old twins and 5 year old had a blast at their water park. They would have rather stayed there and played the water park then go to Disneyland. The have a huge splash pad, 3 slides on the water play structure for kids and a wading pool that was warm. We did not go down the big slides or in the spa or deeper pool. They had life guards monitoring the pool area. The rooms are nice and clean. There is a small table with a bench seat which is nice if you want to eat in your room.

It is directly across Manchester from HoJo. So it's once less street to cross which is a plus. They have a good view of the fireworks from the pool deck.

We have stayed at Hojo and the Courtyard and personally I prefer Hojo - the market was cheaper for milk and drinks than Courtyard for only 2 adults and 1 child the 2 queen beds or double beds better than queen bed and bunks

Also significant price difference so depends on budget

I've been struggling with the same choice. The price difference for my dates is SO big that I booked at the HoJo but am currently holding a refundable room for the last night of our trip at the Courtyard. My kids (2 and 7) love water playgrounds and my plan is rope dropping parks/spending afternoons at water playground. I figure after three days of the HoJo water park we can try one day of the Courtyard water park for some variety, and to see if the price difference is worth it for future trip. I still have a couple weeks to decide if switching hotels for the last night is worth the hassle or not...

I will say I have emailed both hotels with questions about amenities, etc, and both have responded very quickly and very helpfully, so I have a good feeling about both of them.

I debated both options. Pros and cons on both side. But I decided on the HOJO, because (1) I could get a fireworks view room for significantly less than a room at the Courtyard (especially with the Mousesavers discount), and (2) after a over-stimulating morning at the parks, my sensory sensitive kids will appreciate having the option of the garden pool as well as the waterpark area.

With one 3 year old, I would choose HOJO unless you want the other amenities like indoor common areas, lobby, bell services, etc. . . Also realize that Courtyard is going to charge you for parking on top of everything else. If you had one more person, I would say Courtyard but for your little family, hojo is perfect. Courtyard is not appreciably closer than HoJo. Cross harbor right at your hotel rather than walking down the crowded side of the street only to cross right at the gates.

Helene, You should do your last night at Great Wolf lodge if you are going to have a car. Wolf Den suite. Your kids will die of happiness.
