OK so I booked through getawaytoday. I just called HOJO in house ressies to confirm. We will be there 3/30-4/2 3nights. We are currently scheduled to be in a standard room with 2-oversized double beds in bldg 3 floor 2.

I have the option to upgrade to the deluxe room for $51, I'd get a microwave... and I'd be in a building with an elevator.

Would you upgrade? If so why?
Is a higher floor better? Are the bed's better? There are no premium view rooms available so what bldg should I request to be in and what should I request to face?

No, I wouldn't upgrade. We really like the pav rooms, especially on the 2nd floor. :) We like the light that comes in the windows in the morning, it helps us wake up and get to the parks (we are late sleepers), we like the room size, we like that there is no one above us, people aren't usually letting their kids run amock thru the hallways, the beds aren't the premiums and they are a little small but we don't mind that at all really. My suggestion would be, if you've got a stroller ask for a first floor room, then you don't have to carry your stroller or sleeping baby up any stairs after a long day in the parks. :) We don't have anything to carry up the stairs so we really do prefer those rooms. :)

Deluxe rooms are only in bldg 2 and all of them face the garden pool. We love staying there and we need the microwave because we cook a lot of our own food due to allergies. I've never stayed in one of the standard rooms but I would if it weren't for the microwave issue.

I would not upgrade either. We prefer the deluxe rooms with the larger beds, but I would not do it for an additional $51.00.

For $51 total increase, I would upgrade. I love the new beds in bldg. 2 (although you'd need to request that since there are a few that have still not been upgraded). And I love the micros as well.

Are you planning on eating at MiMi's at all? They have huge portions and we always have leftovers and the micro is so convenient for heating them up, as well as making oatmeal for breakfast. JMO.

I would upgrade - we had the new beds and upgraded bedding in Dec. in Building 2 and LOVED it. They were so comfy. It was the best sleep we have had on vacation since we stayed at the Hilton Suites in Orange 2+ years ago. (They have really nice beds)

Really, did I mention how comfy the beds were??? We really loved having the microwave - DH got some of the Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwichy things and he and DS12 had those for breakfast in the room before we left in the mornings. They are a little cheaper than McD's and you don't have to wait in line - you can eat them while you are waiting for MOM to get ready :rolleyes1 .

If you can swing it financially, I would go for it. :thumbsup2

y Guess What!!! I did the same thing to book with Getaway Today and I just called Jennifer at HOJO last Sunday to do an upgrade and she explained to me that we got a free upgrade just because all the standards rooms were sold out and as a courtesy they just move us to Bldg #2....on a Deluxe Room, so I hope you will had the same good luck as us!!!!
