HOJO - Question about taxes on booking

I know a lot of you have stayed at the HOJO, or even maybe Lorealle may see this, so thought I would ask here about the taxes on the room rate at the HOJO.

I have booked for July, for 6 nights, the room total comes to $657.90 then taxes added on make it $756.59.

I just wanted to ask if anyone knows if there are additional taxes to pay, as it says on the printout of my booking:

"Local surcharges or service charges are not included in the total room rate. Local taxes may be additional."

So does this mean that the actual total given ie $756.59 is not the actual final total, and there are more taxes to be added on?

Thanks for any help with this, just need to know so I can make sure I have enough to pay the bill, lol, and don't want to get a surprise when I get the final bill at the end of the trip.

I would contact them and they can give you the total down to the penny>

I agree that you should contact them to make sure, but I am almost positive that the total on my reservation matched to the penny what I was charged.

The city of Anaheim charges a 15% tax so I think that should be the total with taxes already included. I just did the calculations and it comes pretty close, i was off by a penny....

Our total bill has always come to the amount of the room and just the 15% tax. They will also hold $5 per night on your account for miscellaneous charges when you check in, so I always take that into account when I am there and I don't spend that $ elsewhere. If you don't have any extra charges (for phone, etc.) during your stay, then that amount will be released when you check out and your card will only be charged for the room amount plus tax. I hope that makes sense.

Basically what they're saying is that if the adveritsed room rate is $99/night, that room rate doesn't include taxes & fees. So your total room rate of $657.90 doesn't include taxes & fees. $756.59 should.

If you're unsure, give them a call

Right.....The 15% tax added on gives you the correct cost of the room. This is the only tax applied.

Thanks all of you, it does sound as though that's it then, and nothing more to be added, the tax just seems low compared to say, the tax on our San Diego hotel.
