OK - I'm having such a hard time with hotel for our October trip - not sure why! We've never stayed at either hotel and I just can't seem to make up my mind which would be better for us.

It will be two adults (my sister and myself) and our three children (my one son and her two sons). We need either two rooms (Hojo) or a two bedroom suite (Residence Inn).

Anyone stay at either or both and have an opinion? The RI includes a hot breakfast daily, evening snack Mon-Thurs, has a game room (board games, etc.), a big pool. The Hojo has the one outdoor pool and an arcade.

Ooh, the decisions.......... Makes my head hurt!

i stayed at the residence inn two years in a row...its great for big families :) and i loooove the rooms b/c they are like little apartments. i would totally recommend them! one of my personal favorites:thumbsup2

My brother and his family stayed at RI, and while they liked the rooms, they said next time they will definitely stay closer. ART was not reliable, especially on busy days, and they got very frustrated with trying to take midday breaks without taking far too long to get back and forth. They ended up taking a taxi ($7-8 each way) several times just for convenience's sake. It is walkable, but it's quite a hike compared to HoJo. (they have a DD5 and it wasn't good to tire her so much before even getting to the park, let alone trying to walk back at night!)

My vote would be two rooms (adjoining?) at HoJo. Ent rate if you can get it. You could order groceries to be delivered and have breakfast in your room. :thumbsup2

Good luck!

As someone who has stayed at both. Yes the Hojo is closer to the park and you have a great view of the fireworks at night. But I will only stay at the Residence Inn because of the rooms and the breakfast. The rooms are spacious and the full kitchen is great. But what makes it for my family is the breakfast. It is a full hot buffet, so we save on average $30-45 a day just eating there. We found the walk not to bad but we are walkers in my family. We are staying there again this summer and our plan is to walk in the morning/afternoon but after a long day to take the ART back. We used the ART this past December when we stayed further away (RI was full). I found it to be pretty reliable but then it was a different route. Anyways it's a great place to stay where you can be together but have your own space. Any other questions just ask.

That's a really hard decision, and it would probably come down to price for me. Both places get excellent reviews and have their pros/cons. So wherever I could save the most $$ would win.

I haven't stayed at HOJO's, however the RI was fabulous 11/06. The breakfast was really filling, pool, kiddie pool and hot tub we used every night. Wifi throughout a big plus in my book. Afternoon snacks not much to brag about nachos, chili, lemonande etc. We were in a studio perfect for our family of 4. They also have 1 and 2 bedroom suites. Ours had a fireplace! Included microwave popcorn, full coffee and tea bar, all dishes, dishwasher. We used the kitchen for snacks and light dinners. Saved us from buying snacks in the parks. Though we couldn't resist the churros and frozen lemonades LOL! ART was not a problem for us. we rode it back and forth several times a day. No different than any other shuttle. Hope this helps. We are going to stay with Hojo - now I just have to stop looking and confusing myself!! I took a look at it strictly by numbers and RI is more than twice what Hojo is, so even factoring in breakfast for five people, it's less expensive to stick with what we already have.

Thanks for all the input!!!
