I have reservations at both places and need to decide which one to keep, I really liked the beds at HOjo when I was there but have never stayed at ramada maingate, are their beds as nice as Hojo's pillow top mattreses?
a nice bed that is not hard means a lot to us, there is just two of us with no children.
ramada was actually $33 cheaper than HOjo (and that was with the entertainment rate)
could anyone tell me which of the two they would prefer,
thanks so much

I haven't ever stayed at the Hojo, planning on staying there this fall, but did stay at the Ramada Maingate in 2006. The beds were fine, but not anything special.

It was clean, the staff was great and the pool was nice. I would stay there again, but we are taking my mom with us this trip and wanted to try out the pool at Hojo for the kids.

thanks for letting me know I did call ramada maingate and they said that all beds have new mattresses, though only the premier rooms have new bedding and that the mattresses are very comfortable
you will like HoJo's I really liked it there,

I think I may have answered your post on TA or at least a similar one.

But if you get a premium room at Ramada Maingate you will not be dissapointed and I would recommend that over HoJo's but if you're looking at a lesser standard room at the RM go to HoJo's

I called to ask about the premium rooms but they are all sold out for our dates, we leave on Tuesday and are excited,
the person that answered the phone did state that there is new mattresses on all the beds now, but that the bedding in the rooms we have is not as plush as the premier rooms are.

My only complaints about HoJo are the beds and the TV image quality. My DBF and I rented a movie one night after the parks and pool closed and the picture and sound quality were less than ideal. I'm not usually picky about that stuff either. I've stayed there many times and will stay there again. I've never stayed at the other but figured I'd post in case my feedback will be beneficial to someone. Happy trip!

I stayed at Ramada Maingate in Dec. '08 and HOJOs in Oct. '09. Cost aside, I'd definitely stay at HOJOs again. I thought the overall property was nicer both inside and out. I couldn't really say which bed I preferred since I was typically so exhausted at days end that I could have slept soundly about anywhere. Ramada Maingate does have a continental breakfast where HOJOs does not and Ramada Maingate is a fair amount closer to the gates than HOJOs, if those things are important to you.

We have stayed at HoJo, Ramada Maingate, and many other hotels near the resort (I would be showing you my age, if I told you how many years we have been going to Disneyland). We started staying at the Ramada Maingate for our annual trip about 4-5 years ago. We now stay here each and every year. This property is family owned and operated. They have great customer service and always are smiling and more than happy to help you. This is the most important thing to me. They have these new rooms that are a little more costly than standard, but well worth it. The beds and bedding are very nice. You can tell that everything in the room is new. We have also stayed in a Standard room. They are much smaller, but certainly clean. If you are at the parks all day, a nice bed will work just fine. One day we did relax and we spent the day at the pool. The pool is one of the larger one's in town. Anyhow, stay at Ramada, you won't be sorry.:)
