We have stayed at a few of the hotels/motels around Disneyland - Hojo, Sheraton Park Hotel, Staybridge Inn and Suites, Candy Cane Inn. I was leaning towards the Candy Cane Inn for this trip (location) but am uncertain about the renovation situation and don't want to deal with a cancellation. Staybridge was too far for us, I hated taking the bus. I liked the Hojo but at the time we had very young kids so the waterpark was wonderful. I am having difficulty as this time we are travelling with just our two youngest - 10 and 13 and we are not sure between the Hyatt House and Hojo. The Hyatt House has the breakfast which is convenient for the two hungry kids who eat a ton of food but I like the pool area, the new renovations and location of the Hojo. Hyatt House will run us about $250 more for our 6 night stay but includes the breakfast and has a kitchen (I don't expect to use the kitchen much as I am on holiday and don't really want to deal with the fuss of cooking and cleaning up).

Recap:
June trip
4 guests - 2 adults and 10 and 13 year old
Pool is super important, we return each afternoon for a relax beside the pool for lunch and swim

I want this holiday to be magical for my kids as they have really had to deal with a lot over the last few years, all their activities cancelled, school cancellations etc. and they have not complained at all even when our 2020 Christmas Disneyland trip was cancelled.

One thing to consider with HoJo is whether the pool reservation system will still be around in June. Right now you can only book specific 2-hour time periods each day (you can book one each at the big pool and the splash area, but based on the ages, the splash area probably doesn't have much appeal). We're staying there this weekend and with record high temperatures definitely want to use the pool, but the timed reservations are inhibiting flexibility for when we start and end our midday break (you can come and go during the two hours but if you aren't there within 15 minutes of the start time, your reservation will be cancelled).

Another option I would suggest is the Home2Suites on South Manchester. They also have breakfast and a nice kitchenette area for snacks. The pool area is a bit smaller (long and narrow pool, it was still under construction when we were there in September). Or the Holiday Inn Express right there would be a good option too.

The Hyatt House is a favorite among some of my relatives but I don't know if its worth that much of a price premium unless you really value the breakfast that much. Maybe other hotels in the area would be a better fit?

We really liked the Anaheim hotel. Rooms are dated, but large. The pool is huge and the grounds are large and green. Much more resort like than any of the other hotels on Harbor. They do swim up movie nights. Room rates were super reasonable and the walk is very short.

Thank you, I hadn't thought about the Anaheim hotel, it looks like it would be a really great choice!

The pool reservations do make a big difference. I've sent an email to see if they anticipate that changing. Thanks for the heads-up!
