After reading many positive reviews on the CCI, I decided to hedge our bet and make a reservation to stay there (premium room) for our trip in July 09, in addition to our res. at HoJo (premium queen room w/DL view). We stayed at HoJo 2 years ago, and really enjoyed it. We have never been to CCI though. Obviously we have to choose one or the other, so here's my question; Not factoring in cost, where would you stay? :confused3

ok ill pick hojos but cci also has the shuttle right? if so then i may chose it some time i have heard good about it to.
It would matter if you were getting ent rate at hojo or if cci is cheaper and do you get the view at cci?

I've never stayed at either but I have a Premium room reservation for the CCI in January. The reason that I chose it over HoJo is because I wanted accomodations with less children around. I figured with the waterpark and pools stuff they have at the HoJo a lot more families would be staying there than at CCI. But we shall see. Plus the deticated shuttle is a nice option although we probably won't be using it.

CCI, they have a free shuttle and free breakfast. :) Ask for a room towards the back and you'll be happy, we were right in the front which was great unless we were attempting to sleep in. The road noise was pretty loud.

I have stayed at CCI many times and never had a bad visit. I loved the breakfast and free dedicated shuttle. This year we are trying HOJOs because we got the Ent. rate.

We were origianlly booked for CCI for our November trip due to the free breakfast, free shuttle and because of how beautiful the grounds looked. But circumstances changed(extra family coming) and we could get a better rate at HOJO, so...........If we didn't have the rate at HOJO, then we would still be at CCI. If we ever get to do a trip like this again I know we will try the CCI. I just love the idea that it is the same family that owns the motel that did way back when. I have heard such positive things about it! Have fun and please let us all know how it went!

the CCI is the best off site hotel for luxury, it has it's own shuttles that run many times a day and night, it has the luxury continental breakfast by the pool. Rooms are cozy. It is located just behind DCA. there is a market and a 7/11 store on either side. located nearest corner of harbor and Katelle. new garden walk place is a cross the street with high end eats

O.K. I know I said that cost shouldn't be a factor in your opinions because I thought to myself "it can't be THAT much"; but after figuring out what it would be - holy smokes! It's almost $400 cheaper at HoJo!! So now I'm not so sure that the free breakfast and shuttle are worth it...

I have to vote for HoJo, although our upcoming trip will be our first stay. We were actually disappointed with CCI after all the raves we read about it, it just didn't live up. The beds were comfy, but for the extra expense, not worth it imo. The shuttle never seemed to be convenient, and as for the breakfast, we have found that none of the breakfasts on Harbor are worth basing were to stay. I have heard others say that as well. It's better to save the huge amount of money and grab your own breakfast! :thumbsup2

We stayed in a premium room at the CCI last May & really enjoyed our stay. We totally appreciated the breakfast delivered to our room in the morning & the shuttle was nice the 1-2x we used it. Our room was along the back as another poster recommended & it was quiet. The grounds were gorgeous & the staff was great! We would stay there again in a heartbeat but decided to give the HoJo a whirl this time around because we were able to snag the Entertainmant Rate for a Disney View Room. :thumbsup2 Enjoy your trip no matter what you decide!

For a $400 savings I'd definitely pick HoJo. Are there going to be 4 of you? And teenagers? HoJo's rooms are much larger than CCI's standard rooms.

It is a tough decision!

We had reservations this summer for a premium room at CCI, but when I got an email from Marriott with killer deals we switched to the Fairfield. It was $500 less to stay at the Fairfield. Yes, CCI is beautiful and has breakfast delivered to your room...but for $500 we could eat every day at Mimi's! (We didn't, but still we could have!) By saving $500 it was easy to justify upgrading our hoppers to AP's!

Besides which, we loved the Fairfield. It was super comfy, great location, and we had a fireworks view too.

I didn't know Hojo's rooms were bigger. Good to know.

I've never stayed at Hojo, but i enjoyed the CCI. I would think (based on the dozens of posts I've read) that they're a little different in features, but both are very nice.

For our family of 3, I would put a $20 value on the breakfast & another $15-$20 on the shuttle. (since we ALWAYS take a mid day break & would use the shuttle coming & going from that break.....didn't use it in the morning & only once at night).

So (imo) if the CCI was less than $40 bucks (per day) more than the HOJO, then I'd go CCI. If more than $40 bucks (per day) than i'd go with HOJO.

(2 other factors.....if a kiddie Pool is a BIG deal then it tips more towards HOJO......but if there are elderly or walking todlers where the dedicated shuttle is more important then it tips more towards CCI)

But choosing between them is a high class problem. :thumbsup2

Yes there will be 4 of us, 2 adults 1 tween, 1 teen. I didn't even think about room size. Thanks for the info! :thumbsup2

It's around $60/day more to stay at CCI. My kids will be 15 and 12 so the new pirate pool probably won't mean that much to them although I really don't know what ages it is themed for. When we stayed at HoJo the walk in the morning wasn't bad at all, bu the walk back at the end of a long night seemed like it took forever (even using the short-cut). I definitely have a lot to think about...

And that is why we chose to change to HOJO.:scared1: My DD will love the Pirate pool area, so it will be good. :thumbsup2

And that $400 is exactly why we always try the HoJo first. :) You absolutely canNOT beat that Ent Rate. But if we can't get that then our second choice is always the CCI for the breakfast (which was higher quality IMO than the ones at BWPPI or Tropicana) and the free shuttle. We used that shuttle every time we could, it runs on the 30's and the 00's. So it starts at the CCI at 7:30 and then you can catch it at DL at 8. Or something like that, those aren't exact times but close. :)

I'm not even factoring the possibility of getting the Ent. rate because the dates for next year aren't available yet. The difference in price is between the standard rate at HoJo minus the AP discount (20%) and standard rate at CCI minus AAA discount ($10/night). If the Ent. Rate becomes a factor later on then it's a definite no-brainer.

exactly...I have stayed at both and granted CCI is nice but the pic tink2dw posted well my room never looked like that and also cci doesnt have elevators unless they recently put them in and Im sorry but thats a huge issue with me...also, there are alot of families with kids that stay there...yes hojo is definitely a family hotel but pools and kids noise??? thats not a factor to me at DL because at night the pool is closed...and the kiddie pool is far back away from the bldgs except for the little smaller ones and I never stay in them...I would choose Hojo over every hotel there except if I had the chance to stay on property which is very rare..I do it like once a year thats it..getting a breakfast is never a factor for me because of what they serve...its not worth the extra $20 a night...but if a shuttle was a factor for me I would not do CCI but would do Sheraton Anaheim...now to me that is a luxury hotel and they are sometimes cheaper by $20-$30 a night than CCI...

Oh wow, I didn't even realize that was without the Ent Rate!! Holy cow!!! I would definitely be staying at the HoJo! ;) When I stayed at CCI the HoJo rates were the same, they were both $130 a night so I went with the CCI for the breakfast and the shuttle.....wow!!!

Also HoJo has a DIS Discount.

But closeness was the biggest factor for us and we were not on a Dl package so we could chose any thing.

We chose Dessert Inn and Suites, by suites they are 4 beds, 2 bathrooms plus a livingroom with a door to the bedroom. They have smaller suites, too, even ones with a hot tub.

Good conintenal breakfast.

We paid $79.00 a night
