Just wondering to those that have stayed in both rooms, which would you prefer? I know that NQQ2 is a bit cheaper but isn't it farther? Do you know which building is "newer?" Thanks.

The NQQ2 is in building 2, it's further back in the property. It has its own quiet pool, overall it is a quieter building since it is not as close to the lobby, store and the main pool. Even traffic sound wise I found it to be far quieter than Building 1.

Building 1 (NQQ1) is right at the front entrance of the property. Across from the lobby building, has an arcade, store and laundry facility inside. It's also closer to the main pool.
Traffic noise can be loud depending which way your room is facing.

For me, I need a bit of noise at night thus preferrred building 1 with all of it hussle and bustle.

If you like it quiet then building two is a very good choice as well.

I prefer bldg. 2 because it's quieter and cheaper, I don't find the few extra steps bothersome at all.

We are planning on staying here for the first time in October so I will be following this thread to see what others think. :)

We've only stayed in NQQ2, and requested it because we wanted something quieter. It was quiet in general, but we had a room near the elevators and if someone came in from partying/late night we did hear them in the hallway.

I have a "Disney View, Upper level" room booked for June, can anyone tell me if those rooms are available in both buildings? I've never been to the HOJO so don't know anything about the place. Any information is appreciated!

Your room will be in Bldg. 1. Only Bldg. 1 has premium Disney view rooms. You will also have a microwave.

Does anyone have a picture from the balcony of a "Disney View" room? Will be be able to see the fireworks?

We've stayed in both NQQ1 and NQQ2 over the years and prefer NQQ1 (Premium, Disney view room). NQQ1 is in building 1 and NQQ2 is in building 2. Building 1 just seems to be a closer walk, and you don't have to walk through the parking lot. We also really like that the 2nd sink is outside of the bathroom in NQQ1, where both sinks are in with the tub & toilet for NQQ2. In case you haven't seen it, you can see layouts at http://www.hojoanaheim.com/pdf/room_layouts.pdf. The sink is really a big deal for us - it makes things so much easier for everyone getting ready to have one sink outside the bathroom.

huh?. you don't have to walk thru a parking lot to get from building one to building two, there is a very pretty walkway --- you pass along part of the smaller buildings in the middle of the complex.

Planters, trees, a fountain in the middle. The trees have lights in them .. looks like a magial fairyland at night. Very peaceful walk in the morning with little birds flitting around you :goodvibes

I wasn't clear. I was talking about walking from building 2 to the parks. We'd have no reason to walk from building two to building one or vice versa. We exited building 2 on the parking lot side and then walked through the parking lot as that seemed the quickest way to the crosswalk to get to the parks. It's been many years since our building 2 stay since we discovered we much prefer building 1, so I can't recall why we didn't exit building 2 on the pool side and walk through the property. I think it just seemed longer. :confused3

It's really a moot point for us as the bathroom configuration with the 2nd sink outside is so much better for us that we won't consider building 2. But, it is cheaper, and obviously it's fine for others.

I will say that we recently tried Best Western Park Place Inn (right at the crosswalk) after about 5 stays at HoJo before, and we almost walked our luggage down to HoJo to move ourselves without a car after one night at BWPPI! I can't stand outside corridors! We ended up on the first floor and got to hear car alarm beeping all night long from the vehicles parked right outside our door. This is not an issue at HoJo. We're back to HoJo and the slightly longer walk for future trips! I should probably post this info as a separate topic as I see people asking about comparing these properties frequently...

Does anyone have pictures of the inside of the rooms -- either the NQQ1 or the NQQ2.

I have never stayed at the HOJO but took a tour when we were there at the beginning of the month and sure wished I had done the tour in August so I could have stayed there then!!!

I won't make that mistake again --- SORRY CANDY CANDY.... I am now a HOJO girl!:cool2:
