HoJo News! CASTAWAY COVE NOW OPEN!!

The double/double rooms in the pavillion bldgs. 3-6 are considered standard rooms, not deluxe. But yes, they are offered at the same $59 ent. rate.

Yes, I'm aware that they are standard rooms. I was clarifying that the $59 rooms are not necessarily in bldg. 2 because the poster said "Are the Bldg. 2 deluxe rooms the ones that go for $59. I was not commenting so much on the "deluxe rooms" but clarifying that they aren't the only ones that are at the $59 rate. I thought this would be helpful in case
she has reserved a room at that rate and it is not in bldg. 2. :)

Wow! Fast work!

I was over that way today. Hmmm will have to go back & take some pics.

Welcome back, Lorealle. :)

Castaway Cove is OPEN?! Woohoo!

I assume this means the hot tub is open too?! :)

YAY!!!

All I can say is WOWWEE WOW WOW! That looks so great! What a nice job they did! :cool1: :thumbsup2

Our kids are going to love it when we get back down there for a visit! We were going to be there in mid-December (I have two rooms booked w/the Entertainment rate), but now we're going on a big trip to WDW in mid-December instead (My family along with my MIL and BIL.....it was my MIL's idea.....she wanted to go to WDW, and what MIL wants, MIL gets.:goodvibes ), so it doesn't look like we'll be back to DL and HOJO until sometime early next spring.:sad1:

Well we'll have something really great to look forward to on our next trip!:yay:

Also, I wanted to say that that was super fast construction on the Garden Pool renovation and building the new Castaway Cove! I'm glad to see that the hot tub stayed too, since us parents are going too need a place to soak while the kids go crazy. Ummmm, now that I think about it, that's going to be one parent and kid crowded hot tub!

Was there a hot tub added over at the Garden Pool during the renovation? If not, I'm willing to pitch in and contribute to buying a couple above ground models to set over on the Garden Pool deck.....you know, for those times when we're wanting a slightly less hectic environment to soak our tired feet and bodies. The trick then would be getting our kids to go to the Garden Pool.....which aint gonna happen. Arrrrrrrrrr ;)

It's open! And to prove it, we've got pictures up on the Boards in a brand new 'What's New' thread! :goodvibes

I hope you guys love it as much as I do!

I just saw the pics and all I can say is.....WOW! It looks so awesome! My DS is going to flip when he sees it. :) Our trip is still 5 months away though, so here's hoping for some warm weather in December! (We're from WA so it doesn't take a lot for it to be "warm" to us....LOL).

For those of you who have gotten the Hojos entertainment rate of $59, was it just for certain seasons? We might be able to go over spring break and are trying to find some good rates. Thanks.

YAY!!! My girls are excited!!!! so am I really, we just booked the HoJo this morning, we leave tomorrow after work and will be there thru the weekend. The girls are very much looking forward to Saturday at Castaway Cove!!

Ok, so what I get from the other posts is the $59 rate is for a double room. I've already booked the Deluxe 2 Q Room in Bldg 2 w/ pool view for $118 a night. Does the Entertainment offer a discount for this category?

TIA

About room types...

From their forum:

"Based on availability, you can receive a rate of $59 per night + tax for a Standard or Deluxe Room, and $74 per night + tax for our Premium Rooms!"

If you go to hojoanaheim.com you can get to a PDF with the layouts of each room, what kind of room it is (NQQ whatever, etc etc), and what buildings the rooms are in.

We've gotten a NQQ2 room in building 2, pool view, twice at the Ent Rate.

When I've gone through their website booking, using the code SD50, they generally show you the rooms available. I could have booked a 2 double bed room last time, or a 2 queen bed room (which we did). Wish we could have booked a king room, since that's what we sleep in at home (family bed), but unless there's a sofa bed in a room, hotels don't really allow that. Sigh.

Very cool that the Cove is open!

The cove is awesome. My DD's, 4 and 6, played in it for 2 hours this afternoon! Given the simplicity of the slides, it seems to be geared for ages 10 and under, but some older kids (maybe 13) seemed to be enjoying themselves too.

There is a life guard on duty, so I felt very comfortable to bring a book and read under an umbrella while the girls played.

It was a wonderful break in the afternoon!

I just showed my girls the Castaway Cove photos & they are REALLY about our upcoming trip

Looks awesome!!! The kids are so excited about our upcoming trip in October & having this at our hotel is just the icing on the cake! We can not wait!!

Yep, the NQQ2 rooms are the deluxe queen/queen rooms in bldg. 2 and go for $59 at the ent. rate. These are my favorite rooms and even moreso now with microwaves! I can reheat my MiMi's leftovers! :cool1:
Awesome!!!! I believe that's what we have and was wondering if we'd have microwaves!

Lorealle posted a while back on her boards that the NQQ2 rooms were in the process of all being converted to the new beds/bedding. I haven't seen an update from her stating that they all have been converted yet. YOu could always put in a request for a room with the new beds. Other than micro, the only difference is that most of the premium rooms in Bldg. 1 have a vanity/sink outside the bathroom. The rooms in bldg. 2 do not. I have also found the Bldg. 2 rooms to be quieter overall.
Oh not good. That means none of us (4 of us most of the week- DH joining us just a day before the cruise) can be "getting ready" at a sink while anyone else is showering or going potty. uhoh.......... hadn't planned on that. I've never stayed at a hotel, even the cheap motels, that didn't have a sink outside of the toilet/shower! LOL

So question here- do they still have a REAL pool too? like to SWIM in? I keep reading about people missing the pool and about this being opened- and it looks like fun for younger kids but my kids like to SWIM. do they still have a pool at Hojo that you can swim in? surely they didn't get rid of it?

Yes, they still have the garden pool, which is right outside building 2. This pool was just redone prior to Castaway Cove being built. I believe the maximum depth is 5 feet. The new Castaway Cove is in the front of the property and has a zero entry baby pool, jacuzzi and then the new pirate themed splash/play area.

Here's a picture of the HOJO's garden pool.
