It's our first time staying at the Hojo so I was wondering if the Main Street Market at the Hojo is where we should get our supplies - milk, cereal, fruit juices, bottled water, fruits, etc.

I thought about getting it from a grocery store but if the Main Street Market carries the items we need, I would rather get it from them even if it means their prices a bit more than grocery store pricing. To those who have stayed there, how much more are their prices compared to say Von's?

Do they sell bottled water in cases? Can I buy them in a 6 pack or 12 pack or larger?? Can I buy Milk in 1 gallon containors??

Do they sell all the basic essentials?

I bought a small (individual) bottle of milk there and I think it actually cost slightly more than I'd paid at Disneyland. I don't know if they have larger bottles or not, but the photos in the thread I link below might show you.

I think they just sell bottled water by the bottle; someone asked on the Hojo boards about that (later on in the thread). That would be cheaper than Disneyland prices but I think it's probably in the ballpark of $1/bottle. Depending on how many bottles you needed, that could add up real quick (out here at least I usually don't pay more than $3.49 for a case of 24 bottles).

The Hojo market is well stocked but pricey. I would still recommend grocery shopping if you're going to be there for several days. I'm afraid I can't remember a lot of specific prices. Milk for the kids is the thing we most often run short of and have to buy a couple of. I think it's $1.80 for a small carton, either 12 or 16 ounces. They have peanut packets for 50 cents, and those have been useful to us.

Stuff I've seen in the store: bananas, oranges, apples, individual cereal cups, loaves of bread, cheese, lunchmeat, butter, tuna kits, nuts, chips, tons of snack items, lots of individual juices, milks, sodas, ice cream treats, all kinds of sundries. It's great to fill in one or two forgotten items or to get the occasional snack for a little less than Disney prices, but I wouldn't want to do my shopping for putting together breakfasts and/or lunches for a family for a week.

I looked at the flickr photos and you are right... they seem to only sell small bottles of water and milk. When I was in disneyland a few years back, I managed to get larger bottled water (1 gallon) and milk from the 7-11 about a block and a half from the main gate. I might have to check out that 7-11 again when the kids are in bed, thank god..they are open 24 hours!! :)

The Hojo shop definitely only sells the smaller milk containers (and they are expensive!)
