Hojo Disney View Room question

I did a massive research on what hotel to book and ended up with Hojo.. besides its proximity to the park and great rates, its also because we REALLY want to see the fireworks at night. Been reading that some people who book a 'disney view' room in Bldg 1 din't really had a 'disney view' but had trees blocking their balcony hence cant really view the fireworks.

Anyone stayed at the Hojos tell me which room and level in Building1 did you get a great view of the fireworks?

I know this may sound shallow but I know DS will appreciate this!!!

Thanks:goodvibes

I can't help with a specific room request but I can tell you that I read awhile back that they cut the trees back.

I am sure others will post on what rooms had a good view, but when you book the reservation I would just tell them your concern and ask for a room with a good view. :goodvibes

The higher the floor, the better the view. A couple of weeks ago, we were on the 3rd floor, very end and could just barely see the top of the matterhorn through the trees (not on HOJO property, but Disney property). Technically, we would have been able to see the fireworks just fine. 2 years ago we were third floor towards the middle and I had a great view of the Miley Sweet 16 firework show from our balcony. I can only imagine that the 4th or 5th floor views would be like.

Stayed in the premium disney view rooms earlier this month. 5th floor. View below. If fireworks are a must, I'd let the front desk know when checking in :)

Thanks for this thread ajloops :D

This will help us (know what Disney view room to request) for our Thanksgiving Trip too!

One other thing to think about--if you're requesting a top/7th floor room for best views--I've read that those rooms have transom-style windows (above the top of the curtains) that allow light in, so if you need complete darkness (or have kids that do) you may be better off with a 5th/6th floor room.

Hope that helps:thumbsup2

No problem ardenandjacksmom :P and yes Ive read about those giant windows! Definitely going to mention that I dont want the top floor. I dont mind it but my LO will be awake by 5 if she sees light in the room

Thanks for the photo tdashgirl :goodvibes! Do you remember your room #? :cutie:

Ooooh, I don't know... what you miss by sacrificing a dark room for one well lit is a HUGE wide open room because the ceiling is so nice and high... I LOVE 7th floor!! We found our kids were soooooo sooooo tired from DL that they slept like rocks and only awoke once we woke them up.

Once the trees were trimmed, it made for a much more awesome view overall.

I saw the dilemma though, the trees had been there for such a long time. We enjoyed the trimmed trees but also tried to honor them and look at them to appreciate them when we visited Hojo's once the trees had been trimmed.

Excellent owners/staff to care both about their guests and their trees.

Win/win for all!! :)

P.S. tdashgirl, I have never- ever seen a room without a tree view... you must have had a room between trees. Great shot!!

we were in a room numbered "15" last week, great view no trees. In 2008 we were in a room numbered "9" & the trees obscured our view. Not sure if this is different now as they did cut down some trees recently.
Though I did find the 15 noisier as it was closer to the freeway than the 9

Huh someone told me or so i thought that the rooms are numbered with 4 digits... such as 1610 or 1532 ??? Is room # "15" in Building 1? What kind of room is it? Deluxe/Premium/King suite etc? TIA!

Hi again - I took this to mean that the poster was in a room numbered 15, which would be further down the corridor to a room numbered 9 - room number 9 being closest to Manchester Ave and the hotel lobby. I think the Disney view rooms all all odd numbered - all on one side of building 1. So for example room number 1511 would be in building 1, fifth floor, room 11 which is approx in the middle of the building from memory.

Hope this helps and hope I haven't confused things even more.

We had 2 rooms this summer in Bldg 1, 4th floor. We had the corner room #1 & the next room #3. We had a clear view of the fireworks, could see some of the WoC show & also the higher effects from Fantasmic in the corner room.....the older boys couldn't see any fireworks from the next room over because of the trees.

Hopefully you can request a clear view for the fireworks upon check-in!!

AAAAAAAARRRrrrrghh... so I called in to 'reserve' a specific room number and Jessica (the inhouse rep) said it's actually against their policy to assign a room number. She said she can put a note on my rsrvation.. but there is no guarantee that Id get that specific room #. Guess I'll just find out when I arrive... I argued and told her "What is then the point of paying a "premium disney view" room if you cant see disney cuz of the trees?!!!" I thought she'd get a tone in her voice but humbly apologized and said she cant really do anything about it...

oh well. :confused3

Looks like HoJo's needs to re-coat their roof. :rolleyes1

Sorry, I don't remember the room number! It was on the 5th floor, near the end of the hallway (farthest from the elevator).

That photo was taken after all the rain in the beginning of the week -- it's one of those funny things, I didn't notice that roof so much when we were there, but I did when I looked at the photo I had taken :rotfl:

I'd be too distracted by the view of DLR to notice it either :goodvibes
