ok seeing the entertainment rate is only 74 dollars. I have seriously been considering changing hotels.
I need advice before i do this

1 i like the fact desert inn is right at the cross walk. How much feather is it from hojos to the cross walk.
2 ive heard some bad things about desert inns breakfast is hojos good.
what is this new pool construction i have heard about. whens it supose to be done whats it supose to be/
is there a 3$ charge per night at hojos?
would it make any since at all to get hojos for first half the stay and then when weekend rolls around go to desert inn?
(first night at desert inn is more excpve then my other nights 140 in stead of 99. by doing math i could save 170 or so by going to hojos at least for the days the entertainment rate is avalibule

For us it was about a 12 minute walk to hojo's. It wasn't that bad, but there were nights where my feet were aching and it would have been wonderful to not have to walk further then right across the street! One time I wasn't feeling too great, and my DH went and got our car and picked us up in the 15 minute parking lot. That worked out well.

Hojo's does not have a breakfast at all. The new pool area is supposed to be done at the end of July, the last I heard. If the entertainment rate isn't offered on some of your nights, you can always get the DIS rate. But you'll be paying more either way for those nights. Best to call in house and see what they can do for you though. Lorealle is very nice and helpeful. We ended up getting the entertainment rate for our whole trip.

Personally we found Hojo's more noisey then worth the money we saved, and will be headed back across the street (we like the Tropicana) next year.

humm my dh dosent like the idea of moving in the middle of our trip and he is saying
I thought u liked desert inn becouse you got the tub you wanted and its right across the street and becosue ds gets his own room and own tv lol
then he says well its up to you how ever you want to do it.

I will already need to rent an ECV when in the park my feet are bad heck just to the store yesterday was killing me
(yet darn docs say they cant find anything wrong backa)

My dad swears by the hojo, although he hasnt stayed there in at least 15 years. He has only been to DL once in that 15 years and he stayed at PPH for that trip.

We, on the other hand, almost always stay at Dessert Inn. I wouldnt mind the bit longer walk in the am, but at the end of the night, when everyone is tired and feet are sore, I like the proximity of DI&S, and besides, look what the initials spell!!:thumbsup2 I just noticed that. I have never had DI&Ss bfast, we always just go next door to Dennys or IHOP early so we can be at the park at opening or just after.

HTH!!

P.S. I would hate changing hotels in the middle of my trip.

my dh and me just discused maybe getting the cheapest room at desert inn the night we arive save 40 dollers and then the next day move in to the nice room.

were also checking places to have an ECV delivered to the hotle.

I think my dh really wants me to just stick with desert inn. were not picking on quality of food he says its just a snake before we hit the parks to last ocuple hours before lunch lol

we do plan on going to dennys once at least.

If you've already got a suite with a separate room for your son reserved, heck, I'd stick with it if you can afford it. It'll be nice to be right across the street. Breakfast shouldn't be a big deal, really-- you'll probably just grab what you need and go, anyway, and get some other stuff that you like to keep in your room. You got a jacuzzi suite for $99 a night for most of your stay? That seems like a super good price for a suite.

lol ya it is my dh and me dscused things i called desert inn and got a reguler room the first night in stead 140 it will be 109 then the next day we move to our room and we requested a firework view the guy was more then happy to put it down and say ok all set

We stayed at DI two weeks ago. It was lovely to have something really close (with children in tow) though HoJo's didn't seem that much further. Breakfast was very basic at DI but okay. Toast and cereal. We used to take it up to our rooms and eat it there. We didn't have a problem with noise at all. Have fun on your trip!

Don't let breakfast sway you, the free breakfasts are not that great. Small donuts, bad pastries, maybe if you're really lucky you'll get a bagel. Fruit, usually small apples, bananas and oranges and coffee or juice. That's normally it for the free breakfasts. We love HoJo, it's about a 7 min. walk in the morning, at night it feels longer but we've never taken longer than 10.
The pool is supposed to be open at the end of July so you should be fine in that regard, but even if it's not open they still have the Garden Pool, which is also nice. The HoJo has 2 pools, so the main pool being closed isn't a big deal.

I would probably just pay the extra $30 to not have to pack up all our suitcases and move!
We have stayed at the DI for the past 7 years and will be back in November. The breakfast is just basics but you should be able to get enough to tide you over to lunch. The short walk back from the park is soooo worth staying there. At the end of the night I wouldn't want to add another 10 or even 7 minutes to my walk!

lol well ty we may jjust pay the extra 30 but i have a cheaper room booked for first night just in case. 30dollers is almost one those charcter pics we will get at goofys dinner lol and we wouldnt un pack at 830 at night wed just sleep then in the morrning move to the next room. maybe but 30 isnt to much eathier we will decied ty for your thoughts

Hi there, I've never stayed at either hotel however I did just book our vacation at Hojo's and wanted to share the rates with you.

We are staying Sun-Thurs and are paying $74 a night for a premium room facing disney, no breakfast (as mentioned above) and I was told on the phone that indeed the pool shoul dbe completed by end of July. Definitely talk to the in house reservations after 9am, as the other reservation number I called had no clue about the ent rates. There is a fridge and micro in our room and we plan to have groceries delivered and do breakfasts and some lunches in our room. I read a great review of the walk to Dis from Hojo on this board 9can't remember who posted it) but we have a 2 yo and it looked doable. GL to you! Have fun.

ty. desert inn has its own tv and room for my son and the walk is less then from hojos my dh has finely just made me settle with desert inn we are also going to have grochies delivered. but ty all. I just was having one my days where didnt know what to do. my dh is also thinking 30 isnt to much more maybe we should just pay more that night and be in our room and ready set.

any ways ty all im gona stick with desert inn my dh is right lol he loves to be right.

Good choice Jade, with your leg problems-- you keep your jacuzzi! I'd stay there too, it would be my second choice after Howard johnson, but we were so lucky to get that et rate for spring break next year- I have to stay with it. Maybe next time you could try the HOJO ;-)

next time i might but next time were hoping my parents can come and desert inn would be perfect for that bnig of a group lol but ya me and my dh have already said next time before booking we will look at hojo lol
but he dosent like that they dont have a brekfest..he isnt picky at all he says even if desert inns food isnt as good as others at least the offer it
