George stopped stuffing his face with the delicious apple crumble, his third serving, and turned towards Alicia. He swallowed his food and said "Hello Alicia. I'm George".

OOC:Yay. Alright My name is Selina Starfire. i'm pureblood, but not rude about it. My parents want me to be though. They don't approve of my non-pureblood friends. Oh and i'm a Gryffindor.


Selina walked into the Great hall a little late. "i hate being late for things" she grumbled to herself. It always made her nervous. She quickly made her way to the table and sat down. She served herself food and began to eat, still a little nervous about her late arrival.

Olive slowly ate her dessert, feeling full from dinner still. As she was picking at it she noticed a girl sitting there not talking to anyone.
"Hi, I'm Olive. What's your name?"

OOC: Oh my goodness! I'm so sorry! I completely overlooked it.


Kate looked up. She turned towards the girl and said shyly "Hi Olive. My name's Kate. How are you?"

The headmaster, Dumbledore, stood up and the room went silent. He welcomed all the students, introduced the new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher, Professor Quirrel, and went through the rules of the establishment. George listened, but his mind wandered, wondering what lessons he had the next day. He vaguely took in something about a forest, and no entering some corridor on the third floor.

Perpetua turned around when the headmaster started speaking. Her stomach instantly filled with butterflies and she could hardly listen to anything Dumbledore was saying.

Daffodil tried to listen to everything that Dumbledore said. What was in the forest? What was on the third floor? She wondered but would never be brave enough to find out herself. She kind of hoped someone else would...

Kate listened intently to Professor Dumbledore. She made a mental list of what he said. The forest was forbidden, obviously. But why was the third floor corridor off-limits? From what Kate has read and from what her parents have told her, it usually was available to students. How odd. She thought.

Selina looked up and listened intently. She absorbed every single word he spoke.
Although she had so many questions she'd have to wait. The thing she wondered about most was the 3rd floor. What could possibly be there that they didn't want the students to know? She almost instantly decided that she would find out one way or another. she had to know and she was a rather adventurous person so she was excited about the prospect of adventure. Something out of the ordinary to brighten up here year here.

Gabrielle focused on every word Dumbledore spoke. When he talked about the Forbidden Forest her heart raced with the thought of exploring it.
When he talked about the third floor corridor she knew immediately that she was going to discover the secret that lurked there.
She would keep her mind of her impending doom by discovering the secrets of this magical castle... first she needed to find Fred and George and pay for one of their special maps... how would she slip into the Gryffindor common room?

Olive hoped she could remember everything that Dumbledore was saying. The nerves in her stomach kept building as she sat there listening. A good night sleep should help my nerves. She thought to herself.

Luna listened intently to Dumbledore's speech. "Somehow I've got to find out what's on that third floor". She was also quite anxious to get to her dormitory and go to bed.

OOC: Maybe people could put their house next to their name in signatures. You don't have to if you don't want, but it would be helpful.
Also, I could switch to gryffindor so there will be three in there, 2 in slytherin, 2(or 3?) in hufflepuff, and more in ravenclaw. If it's necessary, please answer this.

Alicia listened intently to each of the things Dumbledore said. She understood why the forest was out of bounds but wondered about the third floor. But she knew she wouldn't be going out of her way to find out why it's out of bounds. Instead she began thinking about what they would be doing in their classes on the first day.

Finally it was time to head to the dormitories for sleep. George followed the prefects to a tower, simply named Ravenclaw Tower. They stopped outside a painting. George was shocked when it started to move and talk. It asked a rather simple riddle before letting everyone in. George remembered the answer, assuming it was a sort of password. The room was very cozy with armchairs around a fire, and a domed, starry ceiling. Whilst everybody looked around, George sat in an armchair, and watched the fire crackle.

Wow. There's a lot of cool people here in the Slytherin house. Is it a coincidence that none of them are DISers? lol

 

[I Am What I Am]

Kate got up from the table and followed the other kids to a tower which was called Gyrffindor Tower. She was amazed by the moving and talking portraits, and there was a small delay as they crossed paths with a poltergeist. The Prefect, a red-headed fifth year boy she heard others refer to as Percy Weasly, manged to escort them past by threatening the poltergeist, who she gathered was called Peeves, with someone called the Bloody Baron.

When they reached the Tower, all Kate could see was a portrait of a fat woman in a pink dress. Percy the Prefect stepped up to the portrait and said "Capit Draconis" Kate though this was a rather ridiculous thing to say, and wondered if Percy wasn't a bit mad, when the portrait smiled and said "Password accepted" Kate made a mental note of the password and sat down in front of the fire. She pulled out her copy of Hogwarts, A History. She hated to admit it, but her curiosity was peaked about the third floor. Kate was determined to find out the mystery of the third floor corridor.

Olive joined her fellow Gryffindors into the common room. As people began to branch off with those they had meet on the train, she took an empty seat in front the fire. She watched it crackle and burn thinking of her friends in the muggle world who think she's at boarding school.
