Professor Smith: Professor Smith looked back at Melanie, and was painfully reminded that she was an old friend. He heard the noise too, and he saw the truth in her eyes - that there was more going on here, and something was wrong. And that could be the only reason Melanie could be helping Linus. He reacted instantly. "Yes, that is my radio playing, you're right Melanie. I always forget to turn it off. I'm dreadfully sorry. If you'll excuse me." He got up and let, deciding to see whatever was going on, or maybe Melanie would decide to pack.
Professor Black: Melanie watched Professor Smith leave the room, and suddenly she could feel herself losing it. "I've got to go," she said, choking back the tears that had started to stream down her face. She ran out of the room, down the corridor, and into her office, where she opened her drawers and threw things at random into her bag. She then sat at her desk and tried to calm herself. Taking out a quill and a spare piece of parchment, she started to write.
Evan-
I know you must be wondering, but I haven't any time for questions; you've just got to trust me on this.
Do you remember when I was in my fourth year-all the horrible things were happening-and I learned how to produce a patronus? You taught me how to send messages with them, just in case. We had a sort of muggle code for danger (SOS). That's what I
need you to remember over the next two days.
If I send you a patronus with that message, please, please do not hesitate to contact the auror department immediately, though I desperately desire for it not to come to that.
Please, Please keep this to yourself-do not tell anyone anything about this message or let on that you've heard from me. Please, watch over
the students for me. I'm so worried about them.
Destroy this message ASAP.
Hope to see you in two days,
Melanie.
Melanie rolled up the parchment and tied it to her owl. "Take this to Professor Smith." She then swung her bag over her shoulder and rushed out the door.[/QUOTE]
Professor Smith: Professor Smith was walking down to his classroom. He was so upset. What was going on around here? What trouble had Melanie gotten herself entangled into? Evan knew Melanie was in trouble, and he was so frustrated, as a student he had so easily wriggled out of trouble and detentions, but now when it really mattered he had no idea how to help his old friend. When he reached his office, he received her owl. Frowning, he read her message, and at the end paled considerably. Melanie was definitely in trouble. But as he memorized the message, the memories came coming back and he knew, whatever was going on, he had to help Melanie in anyway he could. When he memorized the message, he incinerated it, and fell into his chair, clearly upset and tired.
