Professor Black: On the way to Professor Smith's office, Melanie spotted the same ministry official they had seen earlier-this time, she was saying something to a student about an assistant. She thought that was very strange, though decided to deal with her later. Soon she walked down the corridor to the office and knocked.
"Evan?" she asked softly.

Professor Smith: Professor Smith stopped pacing when he heard the door. He walked over and threw open the door. He saw Melanie, and before he knew what he was doing, Evan quickly hugged his best friend. "Melanie! I was so worried! I might be your good friend, maybe even a best friend, but I hate it when you do this to me!"

Adelle: Adelle walked away from Laurel slightly agitated, she had no idea where the Gryffindor Common Room was because Cindy was supposed to show her and she suddenly felt different about taking up the woman's offer. But her parents always told her to snatch an opportunity when given the chance and they would be angry if they knew she declined an offer from a ministry official. Deciding she couldn't do anything else, she started walking aimlessly around the castle hoping to find a teacher or maybe a Gryffindor to help her.

Professor Smith: Professor Smith stopped pacing when he heard the door. He walked over and threw open the door. He saw Melanie, and before he knew what he was doing, Evan quickly hugged his best friend. "Melanie! I was so worried! I might be your good friend, maybe even a best friend, but I hate it when you do this to me!"

Professor Black: "I know-I'm so sorry! I must have scared you half to death...Evan, I didn't have a choice-I wasn't lying." she pulled away and looked him straight in the eye. "It was close," she said, "It was very, very close." She stepped into his office. "Now, I believe I owe you a solid explanation. But first tell me who this ministry official is. When did she get here? I haven't ever seen someone act so strangely in their position. "

Professor Black: "I know-I'm so sorry! I must have scared you half to death...Evan, I didn't have a choice-I wasn't lying." she pulled away and looked him straight in the eye. Then he picked up a paperweight and threw it at the wall. "Sorry, I'm just so angry with her. She calls herself Laurel Thatcher, and she isn't to be trusted. Apparently the ministry sent her, not even telling us or anything that she was coming. Apparently she's going to spy on us or whatever for a couple days, apparently to keep an eye on Jay or whatever, like you can't trust Professor Jay. And she was quite rude and bossy, and she had the gall to slap me! And she came into the great hall sometime after dinner, I don't know how long she was here snooping around before that. I'm sorry, I put up all the wards I could think of, but apparently it didn't keep her out. And maybe it's just paranoia, but I'm not sure if she is who she says she is."

"This is going to take a while, but before we go on I've got to tell you what exactly has been happening." She explained to him everything-how Linus had asked her to come to Azkaban with him and how she had suspected his betrayal. "It must have been a change of heart or something, or maybe it was because Finch got out without him, because I could have sworn I saw this evil glint in his eye when he spoke to me. 'You were very brave to do this,' he said. All the prisoners got out," her voice grew weak. "I can't believe I did that. He-Linus-destroyed Azkaban! He killed...I told him we had to do something about this, and he just told me it was just a few deaths. And...Evan, I-I can't just do nothing," Melanie hoped he would understand.
"We nearly drowned. I almost got my soul sucked out...The port key led right here, at Hogwarts. I know she's been here, and I'm beginning to feel that that ministry woman has something to do with it. We've got to search the grounds. I couldn't bear it if anyone got hurt because of me."

When she was finished, he said, "Last night, at the feast, Linus told me not to get in his way, or there would be consequences or whatever it was that the old guy said. I didn't think he would do something like this. No, we can't do nothing. I don't care who we're up against, whether it be death eaters or the ministry or that suspicious ministry jerk or what, but we will search everywhere, every nook and cranny until we find Finch, and we will bring her to justice."

Jane: It was getting late. She found Adelle in the hall. "Sorry I left you. I'll take you to the Griffindor tower." She led her to it.

Veronica: Veronica led the French guy to the Hufflepuff common room. How could Jackson betray her like that? Could she ever trust him again? Was their friendship over before it even began?

Ivy: Ivy finished unpacking and sighed. "I hope it will be a good year. Do you think it will be a good year, MK?" Then, she added in a smaller voice, "I don't want anyone to call me mudblood." Ivy was muggleborn, and there had been many mean and prejudiced girls at Beauxbatons that had used that awful slur against her. Ivy couldn't understand why she got upset, why she was afraid, it was just a stupid word.

OOC: Maybe later, but for now I was just planning on hinting at it or seeing what Jane thought about Laurel and have her make Adelle think about the agreement to be an assistant.

Adelle: Adelle shrugged her shoulders and acted as if the question really had no meaning. "No reason really, I just ran into her and didn't know her," She said casually hoping the acting lessons her mother put her through was paying off.

Lucas: Lucas sat in the common room, mulling over the days events. Today had definitely been strange, and painful, he thought as his ankle reminded Luke that it was in a cast.

Alexei: Alexei looked around. Where had his tour group gone? They all seemed to have disappeared on him.

Freya: Her disguise had worn off and she pulled Jackson into the office and threw him against the wall. She didn't notice the blood trail.

Jean Pierre: They had reached the Hufflepuff common room. "Merci mademoiselle!" He took her hand and kissed it and went inside.

Freya: "You filthy blood traitor of a child!" She cast a spell to completely open his wounds.

Professor Linus: It was late and he was wondering the hall when he saw a blood trail. He didn't want to do this by himself. He cast a spell that would send a message to the first person it reached.
