Eris: Eris lay weak in her hospital bed, fighting back all of her tears. She felt the pain rip through her again, draining her of her energy. Eris heard a noise inside her hospital room. Alec: Alec had appeared to Eris, hiding in the shadows. He tried to bring himself to say something, but he wasn't sure how to talk to her. Their roles had been reversed months ago. Eris: Eris felt a tear roll down her face. She asked, "Who's there?" Alec: Alec finally decided to step out of the shadows. He whispered, "Just me." Eris: "What are you doing here?" she asked. "I thought I told you not to come." Alec: "How could I not come?" he replied. "I couldn't let you die without saying goodbye." Eris: "I'm sorry for everything I said." she murmured. "I didn't mean it." Alec: "I'm the one who should be sorry." he whispered. "It's all my fault." Eris: Eris shook her head. "I didn't listen," she murmured. Alec: Alec stroked her hair. He said, "But I lied." Eris: "You were lying so you could protect me, Uncle Alec. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have gone to be with Linus, or left you alone at this hospital." Alec: "Eris honey, you don't have to apologize for that. After all, I was the one who overreacted, I was the one who didn't tell you why." Eris: Eris let out a yelp as the pain ripped through her again. She said, "You're okay." Alec: Alec choked back a sob as he watched Eris in pain. He said, "I shouldn't-" Eris: Eris couldn't take it anymore and gave her uncle a hug. She whispered, "I just don't want you to see me die." Alec: Alec let out a sob and kissed Eris gently on the forehead. He said, "I just wish I could have done better." Eris: "You've done more for me than anyone has ever done. Now it's time for you to let me go and find your own happy ending for me." she whispered. "Do it for me." She coughed. "I'll always love you." Eris felt another tear roll down her cheek and quietly drew out her final breath before going limp.
