Hogs Head Brew?

Last year, we drank butterbeer after butterbeer
I really wanted the Hog's Head mug but never got around to getting it So, this year, I'm determined to get it!

Question: I'm not sure what the "Brew" is like? I'm more of a Guiness girl, on the rare occasion when I drink anything but DH likes milder stuff! What's the brew like? Is there any difference in pricing or am I really just paying for the mug? Any info appreciated!

You'll be paying a bit more for the mug. The brew is a bitter beer (idk if it's classified ale or lager). Many of my friends LOVED it. I drank mine, because I wanted the mug (and because I paid for the drink) but wasn't a fan.

I think this stuff is actually a microbrew. But it's not very good. The bartender compared it to Killian's, it's a fair comparison -- but Killian's is better and I don't even like Killian's that much.

You'd have to be a real die-hard fan to want that mug, though -- isn't it just the butterbeer mug, but with a Hog's Head sticker on it?

It is washable and refillable -- but I'm pretty sure it's a sticker. I think the mug is raised in the shape of the decal, and the decal is on the raised surface... but I don't have one in front of me here so I can't be 100 percent sure on that.

Same as with the butterbeer -- it's raised in the shape of the decal. But they're basically the same mug with a different decal, and I guess a different raised shape around the decal.

This is not my image, I found it online at Attractions Magazine -- I guess the mugs may have a very slightly different shape. Maybe. But, like I said, unless you're a die-hard, you probably don't need both.

Hmmmm. I'm not exactly a "die hard" personally, but oldest DD, oh yes! Maybe l'll get a Guiness and let her have the mg when we get back.

Not sure if I'm a die-hard, but I'm going to need that beer mug! The butterbeer mug is just about the best mug in our house already...now I won't have to feel guilty for confusing my son (who has a kneejerk "hey she has butterbeer" reaction) by drinking beer from my butterbeer mug.

I'm also a Guinness fan and I liked the Hogs head brew very much. I didn't even know there was a HH mug. Do they have .89 refills?

It's a microbrew from a tiny little brewer named "Anheuser Busch." Not that they brag about that. I find it similar to Killians, but with a sweeter aftertaste. I've heard rumors, but never got around to confirming, that it's the same as the house red beer at Bahama Breeze.

Wow -- buncha liars at Universal!

In the bar they told me it was Florida Beer Company, which is also what Beer Advocate lists it as... but that could be because whoever posted it was given the same misinformation.

If I had known it was InBev I never would have bothered!

Also, the Hog's Head mug is 20oz, butterbeer is 16oz.
