So what are your predictions for opening night games?

Toronto and Ottawa

Montreal and Boston

and any other team you wish to predict. Bring on opening night.

BOSTON BRUINS............ yeah :cheer2:

OH the NHL is still actually around? :) I am actually shocked that the league is still operational, taking a year off I thought would be a death sentence. It will be interesting to see how the attendance numbers come in for the year & if any of the teams fold/move due to financial troubles. The sport was not doing all that well in the States before going on strike/lockout, whatever you want to call that.

Hope it does well, I like watching hockey from time-to-time especially the playoffs.

DS and DH are going to the Blues Home opener. It is all DS has talked about for a month! It will be a zoo and a half in STL Thursday with the Blues opener and the Cardinals playing at the same time!

Go Flames Go!! Sports Illustrated picked them to finish first.
Well, as I am a transplannted Canadian, I am stoked that the players finally caved in and took the owners final offer, and the battle of EGOs is over. :cool1:
Time to get the greatest sport back in action. I like most of the rule changes, except the elemination of the 2 line pass.
I must agree, with Dr. Cavin, It will be interesting to see how well teams like Atlanta, Nashville, Columbus, and a few others do attendance wise this year. I am going to follow that on the NHL site. I felt that when the league was at 25 teams that was just about perfect. 30 is too much unless they put a team back in Canada, where attendence is pretty much automatic with the right arena.

Can't wait... GAME ON!!!

I think Boston and Ottawa will take there openers (Sorry Charles I know you are a Hab fan)

And

GO FLYERS!!

Care for a little wager on that one. Mind you if your flyers can stay healthy they may be a team to watch out for especially with Carter and Forsburgh and the boys they have now. I am hoping Jeff Carter does well being he is from London and all.

The Sharks play the Predators - oh, yeah - SHARKS will win!!

Actually the Sharks were picked by hockey analyst Bill Waters to win the cup.

Thrashers, baby, Thrashers!!! We are going to the playoffs this year!!

Second fav is Ottawa...they have a great chance of winning the cup.

Thrashers over Florida 3-2 in the opener
Sens over Maple Leafs 4-3 in OT

Actually they say Columbus is an up and coming hockey city it has been on teh rise for attendance and they have sold more season tickets this year than the previous years combined apparently. I am hoping for a team back in either Quebec or in Winnipeg both those cities deserve teams moreso than some of the american cities that have them.

I so hope you are correct on the Sens Leafs game I hate the Leafs. My favourite team is the HABS and following them it is any team playing the Leafs.

Wow I didn't know that about the Blue Jackets, I hope that they make it then. Ohio is so much closer to Canada, then say that Hockey hot bed of Southern Florida.

I predict that the Flames will will the western conference, and beat Philidelphia for the Cup!!

I agree with that and I am so glad Stevie Y is playing this season the guy is the epitome of the franchise athlete.

Nope, this is Montreal's year! (I know, I have said that for the past 4 years, but this year it will be true!)

Ok, I'm a tad rusty, so hold on...
