Ho, ho Merry Christmas, Sonja's hair's on fire......

So I'm at Donnie's house on Christmas Eve and he has to work. I'm thinking I'll have his house all nice and clean and Christmas-y when he gets home. All is going well, Christmas music is playing in the bedroom, Food TV is on in the living room and all is merry. I get the house all festive, light a couple of candles......the candles look so nice I'm thinking "Wouldn't a nice fire in the fireplace be lovely????". I turn on the gas logs, grab the little click-y thingy you light the fireplace with and ahem, not realizing the FLUE IS NOT OPEN and gas is just sorta piling up in the fireplace. I click once, nothing, click twice, nothing......click a third time and WWWWWOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHH right in my face......

I start slapping myself in the head thinking my hair is on fire or at least freaking out that it might be.......I run into the bathroom to assess the damage and my hair is a smoldering mass of yellow straw (straw....scarecrows are made of straw.....what's that song again....."If I Only Had a Brain".....yeah, that one.....). I grab the brush and comb to see how much hair I have left and thankfully discover it has only singed the ends and the eyelashes of my right eye, which mascara hides quite nicely, you can't even tell........now......LOLLLL. I have very short bangs and had to take about 1/4" off of the rest, but otherwise no real harm done.

But Donnie says I'm no longer allowed to play with matches.

The boys' bedroom looks GREAT!!!! That was such a great gift for them! To let the rest of you in on it, Auntie Nikole got her nephews a Buzz/Woody bedding set. The comforter, sheets, curtains, a little throw rug, CUTE little Buzz Lightyear slippers, the whole nine yards. SUCH a great gift!!!

Incidentally, I got a GORGEOUS sarong from my future SIL. I am so excited to get to wear it in a little over a WEEK!!!!

This is exactly why I won't touch my fireplace, lOL! Sonja, I am so glad you are ok. It could have been horrible. I am always cautious of candles and fire..make me very nervous since I found one left lit by DD after she left the house. eek!

Thank goodness you weren't hurt! I had to laugh though... at the description of the hair... kind of did something similar once to my bangs. The smell is AWFUL and the frizz afterwards is NOT GOOD. LOL!
