Hi, we are thinking of booking HNY, we will have a baby with us. Any idea if they can let us have a cot and kettle? Any other tips appreciated!

You will get a cot most likely a travel one but it does the job & you can hire kettles for the room:thumbsup2

The first time I stayed at the HNY I mentioned I needed a cot when I booked, and then phoned up 3 weeks before to make sure we had one.

The second time we went, we decided to bring our own cot with us, but when we arrived, they'd automatically put one in our room, because they saw the age of the baby on the booking form.

I think it's a good idea to email them beforehand just to make sure.

What age will your baby be when you go?

Thanks. He'll be 3 months - yes we're mad i know! Never stopped us before though. :goodvibes
Will email bfore we go.

YOu're not mad- it's the perfect age. He'll love the sounds and smells and all the pretty lights.

If you're formula feeding, I'd advise taking the pre made up cartons and bring them all from the UK. Our friends didn't when they went and then they couldn't buy the same brand in France.

We actually packed our steam steriliser and took it from home.

Oh and nappies are expensive to buy in the park, so we brought all our own.

There's a mum's feeding room in the babycare centre in Main Street- there's chairs and bottle warmers etc.

DLP is very breastfeeding friendly, but the nicest place to feed is in the babycare centre.

It might be nice to bring some of your bedding from home for your baby to sleep on- we used some that had been slept on for the night before we left, so it smelt of home, to help him settle.

If you have any questions about bringing a baby to Disney. I'm more than happy to help!

OOooh sorry to jump in bit I have baby questions.....

1. How hard is it really, our little one will be 11 weeks old!
2. Can baby go on any rides? Obviously with us?
3. We have two other girls (4yrs and 18 months) can they go on mpost rides?

When DS was a baby and right up until 4 years the shows/ ride he liked were Animagique, the parades, the carousel- the carriage, not on one of the horses!, It's a Small world- we went on that many times in a row, plus cafe Mickey for brilliant character interaction.

I can't remember the others off hand.

PLayhouse Disney is good. DS loved that when he saw it in Florida (haven't seen it at DLP yet).

It's been a few years since I went to DLP, so I can't remember what else was suitable for littlies, so hopefully someone will come along later who has more recent experience.

With 3 kids, I would advise bringing sling, and then you'd be hands free to help with getting your other two little ones on and off rides.

Disney is magical for little ones, and in my opinion, it's the atmosphere, characters and music etc that make the trip, DS can't remember the rides from visits when he was tiny, (except iasw) but he remembers meeting Mickey and having a sword fight with Captain Hook.

In answer to your 1st question. If you plan your holiday well and don't expect to go on every ride and are happy to take it easy, then it won't be a hard holiday. We found Disney to be the perfect baby holiday. So much easier than a UK holiday, as your kids will be entertained all day and happy children = happy mum and dad! PLus the baby change facilities etc are fab, and in restaurants they will bring out the kids food first, so they don't have to wait.

It depends on the age of your babies, but we took Grobags with us instead of bedding. The travel cot we were given at the DLH was big enough for our 4 year old to sleep in!

We used grobags too, but brought our own bottom sheet. Grobags are such a fab invention! Great for late night nappy changes!!

We also had a snowsuit called a cuddlesnugs I think, which looked like a fleece gro bag, so you didn't have to take baby out into the cold to change a nappy, there was just a zip you undid at the bottom for easy access. PLus it was good as you could undo the top bit, so baby didn't overheat in shops and restaurants etc.

This thread is bringing back happy memories :goodvibes

Wow thanks for all the tips :thumbsup2 this is a great thread for all of us with babies. Am definately going to look into one of those snowsuits. :goodvibes

I went in September Ethan was 19 weeks at the time. Stayed at NBC, we used his sleeping pod (grobag). Also bought the samonsite pop up travel cot, weighs 2kg and fits in case it's fantastic and would recommend it highly it lasts unto 18 months.

It took the staff over 18 hours to bring a kettle, got it eventually :)

Also just mention when you check in to the hotel you requested a cot. We did this in SL & they came & put one in the room:thumbsup2
