ok i got a photobook made at shutterfly and liked it . so i thought i would make one up of husband's decorative paint samples. now when i have been reading about them am wondering how well this will work.( seems some on mpix aren't happy with them, checked another site, blurb, had done one on tabblo but it was only 4x4 so quality is hard to tell. shutterfly was fine for normal pics but not sure how well it would work out for something professional)
but my question is on a couple forums, they said they are printed differently than the normal photo printing, 4 color printing for the books. so my thinking is will that give me a good enough quality to really show up color and texture of the the samples. right now he lugs all his samples in an artist portfolio ring binder and takes a photo/scrapbook type book for finished work photos but wanted to have something 1) easier to transport( he literally has hundreds of samples and some are little molding samples he has to keep in a box ,2) easier for a client to look through, 3) something that would hold up better cause after a while the scrapbook/portfolio inserts gets foggy, tattered looking ( think it might be due to him sometimes showing it at construction sites, etc, not always a clean environment). he's still take his samples but probably only show the few actual samples after the customer limits it by the photos.
so has anyone had a portfolio of photos made up into book form that they are happy with?
this is an eg of what i am talking about although i am going to be taking the photos over( this was with a kodak easyshare and the color is not accurate) but some finishes are very subtle and if the printing isn't that great i don't know how well it will represent it. so any ideas would be appreciated
