So, here's the situation. We're leaving in 2 weeks for a long weekend at HHI and then we are leaving in 60 days for GCV for a week and taking our nephew who is turning 21 right before we leave. Anyway, I haven't even taken either of these vacations and I'm already working through the plans and starting on our next big vacation in '2012!

That means I have 2 vacations planned that I haven't even taken and are already starting on the "big" one in 2012 where we take my brother, his wife and my two neices for their very first trip to WDW!

Secretly I've already started looking at the trip after that for my DH and I's 15 year wedding anniversary. If I tell him that, he may have me committed!:rotfl::rotfl:

Is something wrong with me?

Nothing wrong with you at all! :)

In fact, DVC works best for those who do long range planning. That way, point planning for banking and borrowing doesn't put them in a bind.

If you find yourself working hard planning that 2023 vacation, it might be time to back off a bit though. :rotfl2:

Not crazy at all! I booked a Nov 2011 cruise before we took our 2010 week at HHI and I've got my calculations set for 2012! My husband like it when I book the trips and just tell him when and where we're going so he can block out vacation time! :)

I may be nuts also but it sounds perfectly normal to me. We just got back in June from one trip and decided then to plan another one for next June, 2011. We are anticipating our first trip to BLT MK and Disney Cruise in Oct. Which now has me thinking about 2012. DH and I 25th anniversary. We went to Hawaii on our honeymoon so we would like to go back. Since Aulani will be ready then I am already thinking about adding on points to make that trip happen.
Thinking 2 years or more ahead is not uncommon for me

Thanks all! I feel better now. I simply mentioned to my best friend (she's not a DVC'er) and she said "You do realized that 2 1/2 years away. Gosh, if I would have mentioned the 2014 trip I was thinking about in my head, she really would have thought I fell off my rocker!:lmao:

So what I'm thinking about now (back to 2012) is whether to get studios for everyone or... a 2 bedroom or a THV? I really want to make this trip for my nieces the most incredible, for their first time. They will be 3 and 5 then.

:thumbsup2 Another crystal ball planner here. I think the nieces at 3 and 5 would like anything. I would pick what is easier for Mom and Dad to do to get them back when they are tired.....hmmm...the kids would fit perfectly in those bunk beds

It is not when we are going but how am I going to swirl those points around to make it work?? That is just as fun.

It's so nice to know I'm not alone! I think your right, the nieces will like anything. I definitely have a few ideas right off the bat: Hoop Dee Doo, an appt at the Bippity Boppity :wizard: and a character meal. I was thinking the THV's would be cool but the girls love the zoo too so I thought that AKV (plus I can book at 11 mos) would be great for them. I've also read quite a few tr's and the pool at the thv's doesn't look as exciting as the AKV pool. We just took them for a week down to the beach (their first time there too) and they loved it so I was thinking maybe the BCV. I love playing the points game!!:woohoo:
Hmm...so many ideas.

I have planned our summer camping trips for 2011 and 2012 and how I am using my points through 2013 use year, 2011 cruises booked and a good idea of the cruises we will take in 2012. I love the planning, it's all part of my vacation fun.

Some people think I'm crazy, but I don't.;)

Agree with TwinsFan, and it is part of owning a timeshare responsibly. The planning is what ensures using it to the max, never leaving a point behind!

No - not crazy at all :) I am planning 4 trips at the moment and that only gets us thru April of next year and 1 is a big one (the week before xmas 2010 with the whole family) I can't go to Disney without having a trip being planned in the process! I think it's when you stop planning that way that you may have a problem - hehe :)
