I always like this thread because it helps me plan for birthdays and next year for Christmas. What were your big hits and misses this year?

I got lucky this year- don't have any misses.

Big Hits- OSMO, Pink IPOD, Scooby Doo legos

Big hit was Amazon Fire for kids. They have played on them all day! Not sure if the others were misses or not, time will tell if I can get them to play with anything else!

Hits - Imaginext Bat Robot (biggest hit - this thing does more than I knew it did and it's the awesomest Imaginext toy I've ever seen:), Imaginext Krusty Krab Playset (the characters are getting captured by BatRobot), Star Wars Infinity 3.0 (WiiU), Super Mario Maker (WiiU), Fantasy Life (3DS), Authentic Pokemon Stuffies, Yu Gi Oh Heroclix, Nintendo E-Card, Ringling Brothers circus tickets for the spring, Star Wars books, character watches (Minnie, My Little Pony, Star Wars Stormtrooper - skipped the youngest kid and shouldn't have b/c every kid LOVED these - I now have a spring birthday idea for my youngest)

Misses - one aunt/uncle sent each child a book they thought each kid would like...and the kids were not enthusiastic on sight...they may become hits later or they may make other children happy in our annual January donations (we'll see as the more "spectacular" gifts get played with)...

Nano Blocks and Loz Micro Blocks, got a number of different sets for the teen kids instead of Legos, they have spent hours today putting sets together - big plus - much better price tag than legos and take up less space.
Star Wars Infinity 3.0 (XBox 360). Threadless t-shirts for college age boy!!!
Uvex Variotronic Ski Goggles for Dad, so awesome!

No misses this year.:yay::yay::santa::yay::yay:

No misses. Big hit was the game "Googly Eyes" for my eight year old niece. We played it after dinner and had LOTS of laughs. We all looked so ridiculous in the glasses, we couldn't stop laughing. Fun game.

No misses, I don't buy a lot of 'filler gifts' so I try to stick with fewer items that they will like/use, over 'filler' stuff. DD(12) did say her favorite was the Limited Edition Lokai Bracelets (set of 5).

I don't think there were any misses as far as I can tell.

Oldest DD 19: Zia gift card and two CDs by an obscure band. She got "bigger" stuff but I think she was pretty impressed that I went to the trouble for those.

DS 10: Robo Raptor Blue. His reaction to this was priceless. It's so life like it's crazy!

DD 10: Disney Frozen on Ice tickets and a date night with her big sis. This (and the Gameworks giftcard/date for DS) was MY favorite. I found it very touching that she wants to give them the gift of her time.

Surprise hit -- Hello Kitty suitcase for DD5. Got played with more than the new American Girl doll. I'm sure the doll will have more longevity but the suitcase got packed and unpacked with the other presents and happily pulled around the house.

Other hits that I expected would go over well -- Disney Infinity, tablet, princess dolls.

Miss, sort of -- couldn't find an Ursula doll anywhere and she keeps reminding me that it was the one thing on her list she didn't get. If anyone knows where to get an Ursula doll (the Barbie size) I'd love to find this for her birthday.

No misses -- so happy! Surprised by their favorites, though. DS10 is literally sleeping with his new baseball bat right now. We had a very non-electronic Christmas compared to normal and they loved everything.

No major misses have surfaced yet.

Hits for DD3- Bitty baby accessories, I was worried I might have gotten too much in this category, but she has loved them all. Also sing along Elsa- I may go nuts from the song!

DS5- imaginext Bat Bot and Hungry Hungry Hippos have been his faves so far

My daughter has this same one from Disney Store and it is the size you are looking for. It is a favorite of hers or I could pass it along:

No kids, my nephew is 16. It's been hard the last several years finding anything to please him since he has absolutely everything; especially in the $15-$25 range. I got him portable battery/charger for cellphones/tablets etc. Yes! I finally got him he doesn't have, something someone else didn't get him and something he's excited about having! He's such a good kid and never complains, I'm just glad I finally got something that he can actually use.

Love the non-electronic Christmas. I am pretty sure the only electronic amongst all 4 of my kids was my dd15's new alarm clock/cd player.

Hits were a bean bag chair, Settlers of Catan game and some clothes for dd15. Fuzzy boots, fun jewelry, nail polish and clothes for dd13. Remote control cars, legos and Marvel dress up costumes for ds7 & ds4.

Misses were Imaginext castle and figurines. Bummed and not sure why they don't like stuff like this.

Kind of a miss, Minions Trouble. We had great fun playing it after dinner but the board was super small especially for a four player game. Like a quarter of the size of a full size board game. We had to hold it down every time someone used the little popper thing and any time someone moved they would knock down all the pieces. Fine for a little $5 game but I paid $12 for it on sale. I'd have been really upset had I paid full price. When did they stop making board games full size?

DD16 favorite gifts new iphone of course (total surprise though bc wasn't due for upgrade until may), ukulele, catan board game, minecraft blockopedia book and Pikachu pillow pet!

Big hit in our house was the Samsung Gear Virtual Reality.
Everyone had to try it and now everyone wants it. It wasn't that expensive ($100) so I bet by next year it will be popular.
