I went to hs in the late 70's early 80's in a small town. Many people I kinew and I'll admit, myself a couple times, hitchhiked to get around. When we go to Cape Hatteras it's like being in a time warp in a small town where everybody knows everybody. The kids there still hitch hike.
I have never picked up a hitch hiker but dh has, not for many years.
Today on the island I live on we still have hitchhikers. They are generally very scary looking, or kids. I can't imagine pulling over and letting one of them in my car. The reason they hitch is they are heading to the liquor store right off the island and you aren't allowed to walk over the bridge.
Have you ever hitched or picked up a hitch hiker. Would you absolutely kill your teen for doing either?
I can't believe the risks i took when young.
