History Question

In History, I have been studying what lead up the the revolutionary war. Quartering act, sugar act, intolerable acts, etc. Today we started the war with The Midnight Ride. My history teacher said something like, "You have to remember, this war was very different than the war in iraq right now. When you go home tonight you don't have to worry that some soldier is going to come into your home and try to hurt you. That war is IN IRAQ. This war was fought at the doorsteps of colonists, and fought by a milita of colonists." So when I got home I was thinking about that. I am going to ask him tomorrow, but I wanted to ask here too.
How many wars have been fought on american soil?
I can only come up with a few. So far I've got

Mexican american war
French & Indian
Revolutionary
War of 1812
Civil
Attack on pearl harbor
The Texas War of Independence

Mexican american war of 1846 I think was the date.

Not fought on us soil but the bombing of Pearl Harbor that brought us into WWII

The Texas War of Independence, 1832-36 (I think). Of course, this was before TX joined the U.S.

Spanish American war perhaps? I can't remember if any of the fighting took place on US teritories in the Carribean.

Technically you have to take Pearl Harbor off the list because at the time Hawaii wasn't a state.

Yes, Hawaii wasn't a state at the time of Pearl Harbor, it was a US territory. However... it is a state now. What are the parameters for American soil? Is it soil as it stands today? Technically, the states weren't US soil until we won the American Revolution. We were under the rule of England until that point.

I hope you have a good history teacher because you will also find out that we won the Revolution largely with ingenuity and guerilla type warfare. We certainly didn't have the material resources, armies or $$$ of our enemy.
