History on discounts?

Does anyone know what type of discounts, if any, come out for the end of July into August? Our family is planning a Disney vacation in 2009 for the end of July into the first week in August. I know the free dining plan comes later that month but it's not an option for us since our son would need to go back to college that third week in August. We can't go without him even though he'll be 18yrs. old Has there been any discounts in the past on hotels for this time of year? Any info would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

The end of July is value season at the deluxe resorts. (At least it is this year.) That is the only reason we are staying deluxe. The values and the mods are still on the summer pricing, but the deluxes go down to value pricing.

Anyone know what type of discounts are offered for a DVC owned hotel. We are looking into buying points from someone but was wondering if it would be cheaper to do whatever discounts are out for the villas. Looking at AKV for end of July into August.
