History of Incentives

I know nothing is ever guarenteed. That being said what are the chances of there being an incentive to buy next February? We are not in the position to buy right now but will be next February. I really like the incentive they have going right now(Double Developer points or cash off per point) but it just doesn't work for us. Does DVC offer some type of incentive all the time?

Since I've been following DVC (about 6 years), it seems that there is always some sort of incentive. But the incentive next year might follow a price increase so overall it won't be as attractive as buying right now.

In general Disney does not sell its resorts for less as time goes on. Every resort at WDW has continued to raise prices every year or so as they continue to sell the resort.

So yes, there could very well be an incentive next year. But I think it is highly unlikely that it would be better than or equal to the current one.

Having said all that, it is still better to wait until things are financially viable for you. Let's say that you want 160 points and the price goes up $3 per point....is that $480 worth stretching yourself financially? Probably not.

I agree... I won't do it until we are in good financial position. We want to make sure both of our cars are paid off first. 1 down and 1 to go...

I am just hoping they have some kind of incentive. I would really love the double developer points for next spring. I know I wouldn't get the cash discount but it would be a better option for us because we will be returning next May/June.

I say wait till you are comfortable. I toured last year while DH was in a conference and knew we should probably buy because we go every other year to Food and Wine Fest and other small trips in between. We also were waiting to pay off our car and the trip we had booked through CRO - anyway we are just buying a small account now (Cash) as that's what we are comfortable with. In general we are more comfortable paying for things on a credit card for security reasons - but paying it off right away so we don't owe our soul's to the credit card companies.

Trust your gut instinct and wait till it is comfortable for you. Either there will be a good incentive or you will find a nice resale contract. Prices resale seem to be getting more reasonable - so February may work out really well for you!
