History of 1900 Park Fare

We have dined at this venue for many years since the GF opened. Does anyone recall if it ever had a different name? I remember having a buffet dinner or maybe even lunch there. Did it always have characters?

It has been the 1900 PF since the resort opened in 1988. The only change I know of is that the entrance is now located off of the main lobby. Originally, the entrance was at the small lobby shared with the Grand Floridian Cafe. BTW, the pre-opening name of the GFC was "Southernaire".

1900 PF has been one of the Floridian's character restaurants since 1988. From GF's opening until sometime in 1989, Flaglers hosted the character breakfast (non-buffet). Prior to the change, 1900 PF only hosted a character dinner.

My husband and I went there for a character breakfast back in 1992 on our honeymoon. Back then they had similar characters to Chef Mickey's- Chip and Dale, Mickey, etc.
I remember Chip and Dale the most- and the other thing that I remember, which I think that they have since remedied is that the food was AWFUL-greasy and cold breakfast food. But since we are eating here for dinner this time and based on everyone's mostly positive reviews, it can only be better!

I've read on other posts that they used to have a villains dinner, i wish they still had one of these in the world now. Does anyone remember this, im just curious as to which villains attended this meal

Thanks for the responses. Frank I remember the alternate entrance. We ate at 1900PF back in the early days, but didn't return for quite a few years. When we started going again, I couldn't recall if the restaurant had always been named that. BTW, I think the breakfast is a cut above the other buffets I've had on property.
