Hello everyone,

I am looking into a possible one week WDW trip this next summer. Saw a link to historical discounts and it looks like summer discounts for the room are fairly consistent (link referred to: http://www.mousesavers.com/historical-information-on-walt-disney-world-resort-discounts/#codetrends).

I just had a few questions since the last time I went was for a long weekend when my wife ran a 1/2 marathon, and the time before that Animal Kingdom didn't exist quite yet.

1) Do these room only discounts still take the discount off of the package? Or do you have to start breaking up the trip?
2) Are the higher discount percentages for the deluxe hotels? I would like to stay on the monorail and I think they would probably offer bigger discounts on the higher cost hotels, which would make me happy.
3) It looks like a lot of them came out around April/May, so somewhat last minute. Do offers ever come out earlier (I know, if they aren't on this list, then I doubt it)?
4) Are you able to book a room in advance and adjust it later to take advantage of a discount? Or does booking lock you into a rate?

Thanks a bunch, I really appreciate it,

Jason

I am looking to go June 23-29 and am wondering the same thing. I guess our best bet is to hope for an emailed pin code... Sorry I'm not much help.:sad1:

RO take discount off of RO. Then you add tickets, dining, etc. at regular cost.

2) Are the higher discount percentages for the deluxe hotels? I would like to stay on the monorail and I think they would probably offer bigger discounts on the higher cost hotels, which would make me happy.

It depends. There are sometimes exclusions. For example, the 2012 WDW Summer Savings for travel dates 6/15/12 to 8/14/12 gave 20% off GF and CR, 25% off BC, YC, BWI and AKL (standard view only), 5% off Poly and WL.

3) It looks like a lot of them came out around April/May, so somewhat last minute. Do offers ever come out earlier (I know, if they aren't on this list, then I doubt it)?

It depends and varies slightly year to year.

4) Are you able to book a room in advance and adjust it later to take advantage of a discount? Or does booking lock you into a rate?

Yes. Do it all the time. Look at my ticker. I am booked at rack rate. Ouch. Hoping for a discount. The key is discounts are not always available for every room at every resort. You will have to see when/if discounts are released.

Thanks a bunch, I really appreciate it,

Jason

Jason, call Disney and speak with them. There are some fantastic deals out right now. Up to 35% off. I just finished booking with them and got a great deal.

I think Jason is looking for summer discounts, the one out now only goes up to March 7th. I'm certainly hoping for our time frame which is May 28-June 8.
The waiting is driving me crazy!! :crazy2:
