Historical Info on Jersey Week?

Does anyone have information on past blackouts/promotions that coincided with Jersey Week? I hadn't heard of Jersey week before my father in law booked our extended family vacation for November 3-9 of this year. While researching possible discounts for this time I realized that we may have a conflict. I emailed our travel agent (supposed to be an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner, whatever that distinction means) to ask if we needed to change weeks because we would need to seriously modify our plans if no discount would be available. Her response was "Disney has these sort of things all the time. We never know what is coming, but I have never experienced them blacking out discounts for something like this. The only times I have known them to do that is for major holidays, so I really don’t think you have anything to worry about at all."

However, every single thing I find points to the contrary... Am I missing something and she is correct?

She's wrong, Jersey week is usually blacked out for discounts, I know it has been the last three years at least. Anything is possible and there could be discounts that week, but it's highly unlikely. I would look for November 3-9 to be blacked out. We won't know for sure until around July when the October - December discounts are released.

Yes, jersey week is generally blacked out. However, in 2011, they made a small mistake. When the FD promotion first came out for the fall, it included check in dates for the Saturday prior to jersey week. We were leaving on Tuesday and considered changing our reservation to check in earlier, on Saturday, to get the free dining. By the time we made the decision, the date was changed to end the Friday before and we weren't able to take advantage.

Thank you! I was pretty sure I was right about that but she is a "Disney expert." Now my real concern is that my travel agent isn't as familiar with Disney as I am and that makes me a little uneasy.

I'm a Jersey Girl and we won't go that week since:
a) I don't want to vacation with my neighbors
b) no discount

We will pull them out for the first week of December ~ since it's normally very quiet and for the past 4 yrs I've gotten a PIN Code for FD.
