Hints for 4 parks in 1 day

My wife and I will be celebrating our 5th anniversary at WDW in August. As of now we'll be staying in an AoA LM room. We were thinking of attempting 4 parks in 1 day. I was thinking of going on at least 1 of our favorite rides in each park, getting something to eat in each park, and trading 1 vinylmation in each park. Is this absolutely crazy? I've read a lot of posts by people that have done this. Are there any tips I should know about? Thanks

I think it sounds fun. I think planning your park order might help things along. AK to DHS to boat to Epcot then monorail to Mk and finish with wishes. I think it would be neat to hit all major transportations as well as quicker this way.

Could you really be able to do only ONE ride in each park? I could never decide and wouldn't want to leave once I got there. Plus travel time...major headache

I started my 6-park 1-day odyssey with the intent of only one ride per park. As a solo during a dead time of year, I was able to do more. What you propose is crazy, but certainly doable. Have fun if you decide to do it, but I bet you won't want to do it a second time.

We do three parks frequently in the summer. Adding the last one isn't that bad. You will doing it for the experience and memories. Our group did a 4 park challenge last summer, and it was fun and memorable. My kids did one ride in each land at each park. They finished with time to spare...link.

Pick a day that has EMH morning and evening and plan accordingly. If you don't have to ride TSMM, then you can go to DHS whenever you want. I do find it easier to move between DHS and Epcot, and I prefer to eat at Epcot.

This is a easy task to do, and Captin_Jack has give the easiest routing for running the task. Doing one ride in each is the relatively easy, grabing a bite in each park might be needed to keep up one's strength. But trading a vinylmation will be difficult because I believe the trade rules have been changed so that you can only in certain shops. I just you make it trade a vinyl or a pin.

My family loves to end our vacation by doing all four parks.

Usually on Saturday HS has EMH, hit there first.

Ride TSM, RnR, TOT and star tours.

Then head to Epcot for soarin, TT and MS. I also like to get in spaceship earth if lines are short enough.

Eat at QS in Epcot.

It should be about 3 when your done Epcot.

Head to AK for KS, Dinosaur and EE. Again if lines are short enough you can get in either KR or its tough to be a bug ( love that show )

Lastly end in MK for the mountains and wishes.

We usually have plenty of time for food at MK. Especially if the park closes at 11 or later.

It's a long but fantastic day of memories.

Some have gotten much more done then us, but that is our schedule.

We also have to get a picture at each park with the main photopass photographer. (Hat, spaceship earth, tree of life and lastly the castle)

If you only want to do 1 of each of the things you listed, it is quite easy. I have done the four parks in one day a couple of times, once I did not even realize it. Most people think doing all in one day is crazy, but they also think visiting each park has to cram everything in and trying to ride the rides that normally have the longest lines. If you are just wanting to do a few things in each park, as you have listed, it is not much different than doing all day in one park. If you have a specific ride you want to do, then it helps to plan based on that, I rarely do though.

Something that is helpful, especially without a car, is to plan your parks with easy tranportation to make the transfers more of a break and part of the adventure. Example, walk or boat between DHS/Epcot. I will admit that if you plan to walk all of each park that you might need those breaks. That has been the only part of the four in one day that I have had problems with, but that was because I did not know I had developed a problem with my feet.

We do this ALL the time. Its so much fun, like a challenge. Last trip we only started at 2pm and made it to all 4 parks and rode: Everest, Dinosaur, Rockin Roller Coaster, ToT, Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain, and Test Track, walked around the world showcase and ate crepes and caramel popcorn, then went to Downtown Disney for dinner at Raglan Road. Soooooo much fun! And this was all after a full morning in the MK with our 3 yr old.

My biggest recommendation is to have your own rental car. We have done it before including hitting both water parks on disney transport, but those buses probably ate a good 5 hrs out of our day.

Second rec is to use fast passes wisely.

Also, be sure to hit AK within 2 hours of it closing, the lines for everything will be gone.

I would choose the park that had EMHs that morning....and hopefully finish at a park with evening EMHs.
It's the going from park to park that takes a huge chunk of time out of the day.
If it were me....I would head to AK, ride EE and maybe one other. Grab a light snack somewhere. THen, head to DHS..taking the bus. I would ride GMR since all the TSM FPs would be gone and the wait times would be awful. Grab a milkshake at 50's, then maybe try to ride ToT. Walk or boat over to Epcot. I would do WS if necessary, then head to Soarin' or TT...ride them. Get a bite at Electric Umbrella. Ride SE, then monorail over to MK...then, depending on the time, do whatever you want. I doubt I would bother with any Vinylmation stuff...I usually leave that for DTD trips. Takes too much time inside the parks.

Drive yourself if possible, that change of socks and cold drink is a real refresher between parks. Grab some power bars and coffee for the road. COMFORTABLE shoes Your piggies will thank you at 1 am at MK.

I had a great time doing this two summers ago. I will say that getting to the transportation center at MK and grabbing the bus for AK was my most stressful time, so try to either end at MK or go from there to Epcot using the monorail. Getting to the other two parks is a pain.

I just wanted to say I did it, and now I can.

Well thank you everybody for your tips. We have plenty of time to decide on everything. We're thinking more like 3 "attractions" for each park with certain criteria. Shows will help us chill a little between all the madness. By August I suppose the fast pass plus might help us out a lot. I'm thinking AK first to HS to Epcot then on to MK to watch Wishes. Transportation should be helpful for us this way. I hope we can make it.

As someone who usually doesn't even bother with park hoppers, the thought of this is making me tired.

We did it 1/22/13 on our one day stop at Port Canaveral on the 8 night Disney Magic cruise out of Galveston. Started at DHS- rode TSM, got fast pass for TSM, rode RNR, TOT, rode TSM again, rode Star Tours, ate at Prime Time. Took bus to AK.. Rode Everest 3 times, Dinosaur, and KS then took bus to Epcot. Rode Test Track, saw the British players in world showcase, and rode Spaceship Earth. Last took monorail to MK. Ate dinner at Cosmic Rays, rode Teacups, watched the fireworks and left. We did this with no extra magic hours. DHS opened at 9 and MK closed at 9. We could have ridden 2 more rides, but I was afraid we would miss the bus back to the ship. We left MK at around 8:30. We had a fantastic and memorable time. We go to WDW at least once a year and had jus been in OCT 2012 so we just wanted to do the highlights. Have a great trip!
