My Husband and I want to come down the first week of Jan 2022. Arriving the day AFTER New Years day (2nd) does the crowd die down a bit that week since most kids go back to school or is it still pretty crowded?

We are planning on using hotel points at the Hilton. I'm thinking the one that is connected to the bridge into Disney Springs (will always be downtown Disney to me LOL). Does anyone have any experience if that is a good hotel? We really only plan to be in our room at night to sleep so I don't care about the pool or other stuff there.

Lastly, If we walk over to Disney Springs can we catch a bus to various other hotels (for meals) or to the parks or is that only offered for people actually staying in the park, and we would have to uber/lyft?

thanks in advance

- Traditionally crowds haven't gone down much, all depends when schools start back. Our area varies all that week. And colleges will not have gone back. We loved that week when our kids were in college. If the international travel picks up they travel that time of year too as many schools are out all month.

- Marathon Weekend is January 5-9th so many add days before/after to enjoy the parks.

- There are two Hiltons but guessing you are thinking the "older" Hilton. Note it is not connected to the bridge you will have to walk to it, go up and down to cross. It really depends on where you room is as to how far you walk, some are a distance if that is an issue. I have not stayed there in years, been waiting on a renovation but it's just a bed for you, should be fine.

- Yes you can ride the buses to the resorts to dine/visit.

- There are NO buses to the parks from Disney Springs. Disney Springs hotels have their own bus system that goes to the parks or you can uber.

We stayed at the Hilton Buena Vista (the one closest to the bridge) in May in one of the renovated rooms and would not hesitate to stay there again.

The Hilton Buena Vista Palace? or the Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista?

The non-palace. Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista. They don’t make it easy to keep them straight!

I would recommend saving your Hilton points for overseas Hiltons.
it's a waste to use them in the US because the same points overseas will let you stay in $400-$700 top rated hotels in Europe and Asia.

Unless you don't plan to travel abroad... We haven't paid for a hotel stay in several years by using Hilton points. We've stayed is some pretty nice hotels. I wouldn't consider it a waste at all. Esp since we likely won't travel outside the county for several years.

If you have Hilton points, another option I would recommend is Signia by Hilton Bonnet Creek, IMHO this is the best Hilton property in the WDW area, beautiful resort with great restaurants, pools, and transportation to all four WDW parks and DS.
