My husband and I and our three children (5, 5, and 3) stayed at the Doubletree Suites last year and had an amazing time. That hotel is sold out this weekend (well, Saturday night and that's when we arrive) due to a convention, so we have made alternate reservations. I currently have a theme suite at the Fairfield Inn reserved as well as a two bedded Disney View room at the Hilton. Which one would you keep? The total price is similar and not a big determining factor. I'd love your reviews/thoughts/experiences. We plan to do rope drop most days and go back to the hotel for mid-day naps.

Although I have never stayed in a themed suite, I will stand by the Fairfield 100%
It is close enough that walking takes about 10 minutes, so getting there for rope drop is rather easy. I go back mid-day for a break, and the rooms I have stayed in there have a mini fridge so I could keep cool drinks and snacks for my break times and for an easy breakfast (milk and cereal usually) but McDonalds and Mimi's are right next door if you're looking for somewhere else to eat outside of the parks.

Will you have a stroller for the kids? Reason being is the Hilton is a very nice property, we loved our stay there in May.....but, the walk was LONG. DH and I walk a lot and are in good shape, but at the end of the night we were regretting the walk back to our room! Plus, our room was super far away from the elevator (The Hilton is a huge hotel!) which made it worse! Plus, the parking fee at the Hilton was pricey!

FWIW, I have never stayed at the Fairfield Inn but have heard great things about it. If you aren't using a stroller, I would go with the Fairfield Inn.

I have never stayed at the Hilton. But we have stayed at the Fairfield Inn and would definitely stay there again and recommend it. The location is great...and that is super important to us. Have fun!

DH and I stayed at the Hilton for our honeymoon many years ago and even as full grown adults, it was a LONG walk to Disney which felt even farther at the end of the day when you're already tired. We are staying at Fairfield in December because of good reviews so I can't recommend it yet but we have stayed across the street before and we will never again stay further away than that (we stayed at Doubletree last time - shuttle only and we hated it). It's just so convenient to be so close and not have to worry about shuttle schedules.

Thank you! We will have a stroller (or two) so we would walk from the Fairfield, but take the ART from the Hilton. I didn't mind taking ART last time, but kind of hate being tied to it too.

I am leaning toward Fairfield - so many good reviews and I think being an easy walk away will be a great change this time. Thank you!

I think walking distance is so much nicer when with the kids! We have a DS6 and DS5 and always stay within walking distance (trip in May was without kids). It's nice to be able to pop back to the room if need be. FFI gets good reviews on the Dis and I have some friends who stay there every trip and love it! I plan to try it at some point! Have a great trip :goodvibes
